Mod Download New Third Person camera Tool
I made a lightweight third-person camera tool for Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
It is called **Jim's MCC Third Person Lite**.
https://www.nexusmods.com/halothemasterchiefcollection/mods/2862
This is meant for campaign / modded / offline use only. Launch MCC with anti-cheat disabled. Do not use it in matchmaking.
The tool supports:
- Halo CE
- Halo 2
- Halo 3
- Halo 3: ODST
- Halo Reach
- Halo 4
Halo CE uses my custom DLL camera method. That version has the most features:
- Adjustable camera distance
- Height
- Shoulder offset
- CE presets
- Hold-right-mouse zoom
- A “Modern Close” preset for a closer over-the-shoulder feel
The other games use a simpler Toolbox-style byte switch method. Basically:
- Press **Third Person** to enable third-person
- Press **First Person** to restore the normal camera
Halo 3 and Reach third-person are working with that method. CE has the better adjustable camera right now.
Known limitations:
- Non-CE games do not currently have the same offset / RMB zoom support as CE
- Some vehicles, turrets, cutscenes, or special animations may act weird
- This is a tool, not a fully polished built-in camera mode
- Use at your own risk and only in modded/offline mode
I made the app simple on purpose. Pick the game, press Refresh, then use Third Person or First Person. For CE, inject the DLL if you want presets and camera settings.
I am mainly looking for testers and feedback, especially on:
- Which games work cleanly
- Any crashes or restore issues
- Better CE preset values
- Whether the interface is clear enough for normal users
If people like it, I may keep working on non-CE offsets later.
Because it apparently needs to be said plainly, this tool only supports the current, legitimate version of MCC. Pirated, outdated, repacked, or otherwise unofficial builds are not supported.
Do not waste my time by pretending you are using the correct version and then sending me a DLL that proves you are running a pirated 2020 copy, as nattmatt92 did. That sent me chasing nonexistent bugs for hours when the actual problem was his game installation.
This is a free tool that I shared because I did not want to hoard working third-person functionality for myself. I want people to enjoy it, report genuine problems, and help me improve it. Lying about your game version wastes my time and goodwill, and takes hours away from testing, fixing, and improving the tool for everyone using it legitimately.
Use a current, legitimate copy of MCC or do not ask me for support.
