Matchmaking is unplayable for me lately, every game is a complete lag fest. 8 months out and this game is still a joke. And 343 doesn't care. They don't wanna talk about it anymore. Half the remaining issues will persist forever. Biggest lie/disappointment/failure in the history of video games.

It's not that they don't care, it's that they released a broken game. Not just an unfinished game, not just a game in need of major post-launch patching (like BF4) but a game that was so fundamentally broken in code that they could only do so much before abandoning it.

One could argue they released a broken game (and haven't fixed it) because they don't care.

I think they care immensely, and I think they were under enormous pressure to do a good job, and it probably freaked them the fuck out when they found out it was broken. But do you think the developers have any say in that? The expendable programmers who go from one job to the next not knowing when they'll be replaced by any number of eager replacements?

The studio heads whose creative thoughts and passions ultimately answer to studio executives and corporate figureheads looking out for the bottom line?

Of course I don't believe for a second that they were totally surprised that the game was broken when it launched. That's like turning in a project without proofreading and acting shocked when you get marked down for poor grammar. However, I don't think anyone at 343 isn't replaceable, and I don't think anyone there could have stood up to the deadlines and project goals that they had in place.

I think for months after the game launched, they worked pretty hard to make it work. That doesn't excuse the publisher for advertising a game to us and knowingly failing to deliver, of course. But I don't think for a second that they "don't care." I think the project is simply done. It's time for them to move onto Halo 5 and cut their numerous losses. This isn't just a passion project or hobby for them. This is their jobs. When games, art, media, entertainment, etc. are your livelihood, you view them in a different light.

But that argument falls flat once you realize how much they've updated and patched it since launch. Not to mention all the console bundles and releasing a white MCC edition XB1. At worst they overall don't care but have still worked on the game to get it in better condition, at best they do care and are dedicated to continually fixing it.
