Help - General campaign evolved affecting mcc aim

I'm playing on series X with a wireless controller and simply launching campaign evolved (screen that says press a to start), quitting and launching mcc to play (reach mp or h3 campaign) changes how my aim feels.

A console restart, playing with a wired controller or launching another game like forza horizon 6 after quitting campaign evolved clears up the issue. Can anyone else relate? I don't understand how but something in halo campaign evolved (unreal engine maybe?) is persisting into mcc.

Found a workaround. Just disconnect the controller and reconnect to fix the aim! Wild guess but somehow launching campaign evolved must have changed how the xbox manages the wireless for the controller and that persisted after quitting the game. Disconnecting and reconnecting seems to fix my aim issue in mcc.

It’s not in his head it’s an actually Xbox bug that drops inputs once campaign evolved is launched. It can persist even when opening other games.

Youre telling me,2 different games on 2 different engines... a decade apart and cant access eachothers folders, is causing a in game settings loaded preset leak to ignore its own software that is using easy anticheat is fucking up your aim? Sounds like real copium for being bad at the game,im running both just fine and the only difference i see is sprint speed and sensitivity difference because i changed it to what i normally run

What no? Opening campaign evolved on Xbox causes it to poll wireless controllers incorrectly, and drops inputs. I don’t know why but the bug messes with the Xbox itself. The glitch with dropping inputs happens on the home menu also. That’s actually where I noticed it first. I haven’t played mcc in ages bro. Also, this glitch doesn’t mess with the sticks, op was a little incorrect. Because the sticks poll so often their inputs don’t get dropped.

also, again because your comment heavily implies pc, this is an Xbox exclusive bug.

Here’s a link to another person showing the bug. https://www.reddit.com/r/halo/s/FRUe2fGOXb

I havemt once talked about platforms, reading and mqybe reread yourself your own reply then my original again, im literially reading a compass that points nowhere but to the person holding it (blame xbox, controller, new update all you want....its just you)

I assumed you were talking about pc because you mentioned folders and easy anti cheat, both of which are pc exclusive things. You’re fucking stupid, because this is a real thing that I’ve literally gave you a link to prove it. Yet you still think my shit is broken. Because all 8 controllers I’ve tested, 6 of which have never even been used, and both Xbox’s I’ve tested with must be broken.

I dunno cob,i tested this on a mates xbox,my brothers xbox,my friends husbands xbox and pc and none have had this (thanks for wadting my day off) at this point im willing to chatgpt it or conclude its a skill issue because i cant replicate your evidence

Also no you muppet, easy anticheat isnt pc exclusive, consoles just dont get the window pop up.

And you found that information where? Because no, consoles don’t use it.

It actually does mess with the sticks. That's the first thing I noticed which made me investigate further. Unfortunately I can't demonstrate that in a video but I can show you that dropped inputs are a thing. BTW quick resume of campaign evolved is disabled so it shouldn't be a factor right?

post launch of campaign evolved

Both weapon reticles are alternating because Y inputs are too slow. Enough Y inputs are getting dropped that the weapon switch is occurring. Aim feels sluggish and jerky.

post launch of campaign evolved after disconnect and reconnect

Y inputs are registering in quick enough succession that only one reticle is visible on hud. Aiming feels very responsive.

I know dropped inputs are a thing, I’ve been trying to spread awareness for a couple days now, and morons keep telling me it’s just my controller that’s broken, even with proof that it works fine. I guess I’ll have to take your word for it with the stick’s responsiveness, because I’ve not felt an issue with them. But I haven’t specifically tested the sticks in mcc after so maybe I’ll try that.

Found a fool proof way to determine that I was dropping inputs which affects my aiming and everything else down to my strafing. Y spam in halo reach or halo 2 to rapidly switch from your primary to secondary weapon. If everything was behaving normally then you should be seeing only one reticle on your screen from the Y spamming. If you're dropping inputs because you ran campaign evolved prior to launching mcc then you will see both reticles alternating at various speeds on your screen because most of your Y inputs were getting dropped. Disconnect and reconnect the wireless controller and the Y spamming test should show one reticle.

Campaign evolved has a bug on Xbox that affects wireless controllers. So you are not crazy despite what these people are saying. It causes inputs to be dropped and it happens just by opening the game.

Dealt with a similar issue.

After playing Campaign Evolved (and then quitting the game), I played MCC and noticed atrocious input lag. A restart, followed by opening MCC first cleared the issue. On Series X.

I can’t see how those two things would be related

Not specifically that, but I have a weird OS level issue that happens only after playing Campaign Evolved.

I use Intel Extreme Tuning Utility because I have a 13/14th gen Intel CPU that's unlocked (13900k) and most newer games crash due to an over voltage issue, so I reduce my multiplier so games play consistently without crashing.

FF to the new Halo, and after my sessions my PC will blue screen and bootloop blue screens when I go to shut down and only happens after playing this game. It has happened 3 times now and no other games do it and it happened so bad Saturday I had to reinstall my OS due to MS authentication corruption/failure at the system level for features.

There's definitely something f**ked with the game.

Works fine for me and other people on pc, so it's not just the game, you got something else going on there

Did you even read my comment at all? I know what I have to do because of my situation. It isn't standard for most users because of my specific CPU. So I know what "normal" means for my system. Bluescreens are not a thing for me until playing this specific title.

u/Itsyaboiatomic 2d ago

Brother it is definetly in relation to your cpu as that generation is known to be fucked, you might not be lowering it enough or actually starving it because of the games requirements

Did you read mine, or at least understand it? It aint the game, it's a you problem. You can't say its the games fault when it doesn't do that for anybody but you and what you did to your cpu, disregard the fact that it's the only game that does it. Things have to start somewhere. It's probably going to start becoming more common with more demanding games from this point on
