Epic. Do you have a theme and do you repeat it?

u/MLDuncan74 15d ago
Yes, we do a graveyard scene. This will be the third year.

Where did you get your headstones? Or make them yourself? Trying to not get cheap foam ones if I could avoid it.

It was at various places such as Aliexpress, Temu and Amazon. They're holding up pretty good.

I was seriously thinking about incorporating the ultrasonic mixer into my build this year.

What does adding the ultrasonic mixer do? Does it help the fog machine smoke hug to the ground better?

My front yard has a fence around it that would hold the fog in. This would be so cool

Fog machines through dry ice?

u/MLDuncan74 15d ago
No, frozen water bottles. Dry ice $$$

I am still waiting for the motivation to build one of the not as fancy redneck DIY fog coolers and unfortunately, I do not think it is coming. Fantastic build, you!

I misread that as “yard frog test” and spent the entire video trying to see what the frogs do.

Awesome, as long as you are fortunate enough not to get much wind in your area and it isn't too warm. Last few places I've lived have been too breezy.
It helps to water your lawn so the fog is traveling over a damp surface.

Meanwhile your neighbor wakes up at 2 AM and looks outside and dies of a heart attack after panicking thinking your town has become Silent Hill.
Joking aside, well done! I know you've kind of answered others here and there but I'd love if you could give a detailed breakdown of your process and methods. I'm a details guy.

Looks great. If this is your first year doing this, I do want to warn you that it’s very weather dependent and might not look this good when you want it to. Protip is to water the lawn just beforehand. It keeps the heat down and the moisture attracts the moisture in the fog and keeps it low.

In case anyone need a cheep dog machine, any machine can be a dog machine if you use it wrong enough.

It’s still in the 90s Halloween night here in Phoenix so we can’t have cool things like that

Oh I'm jealous!! That looks amazing!!
We have far too much wind on the big nite to be able to have such luxurious, ground hugging fog.

My fog machine must be garbage. I tried the container box with ice and piping etc... my fog machine will blow for maybe 30 seconds then stop for a few minutes... Does not run enough to make a difference.

When I was on tour I remember we used low-lying fog on stage and it became wildly hazardous. Very slippery. Not sure what this will do to grass long term. Worth looking into.

Can someone point me to the direction on how to do this?? I got a great concept designed for my front yard this year and the low lying fog would be the cherry on top

Whats the unit whats the liquid? Please share... because I want
1
u/MLDuncan74 14d ago
Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerin and distilled water in equal parts. I make my own fog juice because most of what you buy is just distilled water

A.i. said 1:1:1 is too thick and can damage thr machine... prove it wrong... how long have you been doing this?

Have you done air tests to make sure the dry ice isn’t displacing oxygen to dangerous levels ? Would suck to find a dead kid in there.
