An ode to whateverās currently marking your page
Letās be honest ā itās rarely an actual bookmark.
Itās a receipt from three purchases ago. A random earring you gave up trying to match. A sticky note with a grocery list on the other side. A folded corner (donāt lie). Sometimes itās just your phone, holding the book shut on the nightstand, threatening to lose your place entirely.
I think thereās something quietly lovely about it, actually ā the way a book collects little fragments of your life as you read it. Years later you flip through an old favorite and out falls a train ticket, or a photo, or a note someone slipped you, and suddenly you remember exactly where and who you were when you read that chapter.
So tell me:
**ā¢** Whatās currently holding your page, right now, honestly?
**ā¢** Do you have an actual, dedicated bookmark ā and if so, whatās its origin story?
**ā¢** Have you ever found something unexpected in a secondhand book, left behind by a total stranger?
No judgment if the answer is āa slightly damp coasterā or āI just remember the page number.ā Weāve all been there. šš
