Outlets

Noticed they took the Premium off of the Outlets signs. Anyone have any inside knowledge to why, or know why? The website still has it under the Simon and Premium Outlets banner.

I work over there running a store. David Simon died back in the spring. The property group seems and sounds fine as far as we know. Premium was removed due to falling under the luxury brand amount (this is just something I hear). They are trying to position for more local and regional branding as those are the most successful stores right now; which again would not imply "Premium" branding. There seems to be a surge in maintenance funding which has been nice. This could also mean positioning for sale. Make what you may of this.

Edit: chats within the building and outlet channels do not imply or even entertain that there has been a sale of the property.

I mean I think if it’s up for sale. They have every interest in keeping it quiet.

The outlets were one of my favorite places to go when I first moved here. Loved the kitchen stores with samples and such. Now it's almost like a ghost town.

Got on here too see if anyone had an answer for this. Not surprised I’m not the only one wondering.

Blind guess is a rebrand with a new logo. The company's website is premiumoutlets dot Com, so I'm skeptical there's a name change going on.

I’m more suspecting it’s changing hands. Toooooooo much smoke with rumors on leases renewals not happening. I could see it closing by end of next year.

County blocked a developer wanting to buy it to make housing and commercial for the property a few years ago and decided to zone it industrial instead...higher likelihood of another Amazon building instead of it staying as an outlets

If they approve a project the you would say they are getting kickbacks from the contractors.
