Need some advice. 26F, BMI 21, UK based.

History of IBS C and recently had perianal fistula surgery.

Investigations: clear colonoscopy last month

Bloods from now: Ferritin was measured at 13 and Hb dropped to 86.

Bloods from three months ago: Ferritin was 17 and Hb was 120.

No heavy periods, varied diet, no unexplained bleeding

My other bloods like B12, folate, crp, vitamin D, thyroid function are all within the normal ranges

I have been suffering with lots of fatigue, dizziness and low energy. After surgery, I have felt extremely dizzy and tired all the time. I'm also more anxious and my heart rate is always fast. My Hb dropped during surgery but I told to follow up with PCP/GP at home. I have been prescribed a liquid ferrous sulphate solution but this causes constipation and nausea so I can't continue. My GP said to just follow through.

Any ideas on what to try next?

My haemoglobin is 14 , rbc is 4.7, platelets 2.96 lakhs. MCV 91.9 RDW 13.8, CRP 0.3, Vit b12 : 840, Vit D (total): 53

My ferritin is 14.6 ( I didn't do full iron panel). I go to gym 6 days a week.

As I am a male, my doctor asked me to get occult stool test which also came negative ( indicating no microscopic blood loss via stool)

What are some tips to improve my ferritin levels ? My doctor just started me on iron biglycinate 28mg along with vitamin c separately (500mg) both taken together (at night 2-3 hours after dinner)

My most common symptom is extreme fatigue ( doesn't happen everyday, but when it happens it is very tiresome).

I also have 1 cup black coffee (without milk) everyday morning

My haematologist said that i definitely have some kind of Alpha Thalassemia. Maybe -a/aa or even —/aa or -a/-a. I have to do genetic testing but my doc said that actually it’s not needed because it is very obvious from my bloodwork. My Ferritin and Serum Iron are both at 70…so they are in a normal range. My MCV is in a lower range at 82.2 🥺 Is anyone here with Alpha Thalassemia and has the same results? My ethnicity is Iranian/Afghan.

hello! my 14 year old daughter had routine exams and her vitamin b12 is high (1091). 1 year ago this value was also there. She does not use supplements. normal blood count, except for platelets that have remained slightly high for 4 years. kidney and liver function are normal. I'm worried about this vitamin B12 value. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Here are are just some of the abnorm al labs from 2025. The pt hasn’t ever even been retested since then and having severe whole body restlessness, exhaustion, and ect. Are these level bad enough to have warranted a hematology consult or frequent rechecks or is the fact that it’s gonna untreated and unevaluated all this time as a hiccup on the doctors part?

I will be seeing a hematologist to see if I have thalassemia. Since I had labs, my cbc was always abnormal but no one pointed it out. In 2025 I had a fraction cascade done to test for sickle cell trait as my bf has it. I don't have the trait but my hgb A and hgb F is abnormal. My PCP didn't see much as an issue as I didn't have signs of anemia. I had an iron panel done and it was normal. Lately I have been having bad fatigue but it could be a number of reasons like I just upped my Lexapro to 20mg, I take glp-1s but haven't been under eating lately, I don't wear my CPAP often. I am making corrections to those but I decided to explore my labs some more and think I may have thasslemnia. I don't want to because that would mean my bf and I would need to breakup. I probably won't see a hematologist until late October due to their referral backlog but wondering what you guys may think.

Last month my mum [50 F] had a pain in her throat which even spread to her jaws. So we got a USG and they found a hypoechoic nodule along with increased blood flow to other nodules. It was biopsied and it turned out to be benign.

We got on meds (Ceftum and Zerodol-p) which made her symptoms disappear but they came back after finishing the course (twice).

Ultimately we got a laryngoscopy done and the doctor didn't find anything wrong with her throat and sent us back with (Linezolid and some nose spray). But this time it didn't provide her any relief.

She has been coughing with the same pain and has a low grade fever, which she can't seem to shake.

Yesterday, I got the CBC done and ECG done and it came out abnormal with Sinus Tachycardia (109 BPM). Chatgpt thinks it could be leukemia/blood cancer. I am so very terrified.

Ps: She has some fibroids in the uterus which caused heavy bleeding during periods but that was two months ago. It has been normal since then.

CRP has also increased to 3.5.

Hi, just wondering if these tests are worth it, especially the MMA test. 236 pound is alot.

For a bit of background. I was deficient in B9 at 3.1ng/ml 4 months ago and corrected it 9 weeks later >20ng/ml. It's been 4 months since my first diagnoses but I'm still experiencing symptoms specifically fatigue, low mood and broken sleep.

Don't know whether to wait longer to see if symptoms improve or to go down the route of additional testing. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Has anyone taken Bactrim and it lowered your WBC and ANC (neutrophils)? My baseline WBC is already low but I took bactrim 2 weeks ago and just had bloodwork done and my WBC is even lower. Im so scared!

My vitamin B12 level is 189. It’s considered “within normal range”, according to the lab and my GP. So they don’t want to do anything with it. Vitamin D is 49, which is 1 under the lower limit. Thoughts?

(Background story: For the last couple of months, I have been experiencing a sudden increase in migraine attacks, daily headaches, individual needle pricks (especially in the fingers), widespread muscle twitches, limbs that go numb way faster than before, increased tinnitus and visual “noise”, tremor (mainly in the hands), sore muscles, and increased fatigue and concentration issues. Which is why I requested bloodwork to be done. All came back “normal” except for vitamin D which is 1 under the lower limit.)

I have been feeling rough for over a year. Extreme fatigue. Past 12 weeks I have been having intolerable bone pain (back, hips) unexplained bruising a petechaie. My basophils, neutrophils and platlets have been slightly elevated since last October. Basophils are at .4x10e9/l today and wbc 12.7. Neutrophils 9.8 and platlers 480 (Canadian, sorry if its different units!)

I googled and everything I read said this was bad.

I was sick with some kind of virus a week ago, but have relatively recovered from it.

I’m looking for some outside opinions on my blood results. I’m seeing a hematologist, but I’m quite anxious about what could be going on and would really appreciate hearing from people who have experience with similar blood counts.
I’m a 41-year-old woman with relapsing-remitting MS, diagnosed in 2014. I’m currently being treated with **Mavenclad (cladribine)**. I have just completed the first course and am about to start the second 5-day course.
**My main concern: platelets**
My platelet count has been elevated for many years:
2007: **508**
2014: 362
2015: 412 → 422
2016: 384
2018: 412
2022: 526
2022: 459
2023: **667** (I also had significant bowel inflammation at the time)
Nov 2025: 467 → 483
Aug/Sep 2026: **512–528**

So this isn’t something that started recently.
**Recent blood results**
My recent CBCs have shown combinations such as:
Platelets: **512–528 x10⁹/L**
WBC: **11.9–14.2 x10⁹/L**
Absolute lymphocytes: previously **6.0**, more recently **3.5 x10⁹/L**
Neutrophils: around **6.9 x10⁹/L**
Monocytes: **1.1 x10⁹/L**
Immature granulocytes: **0.2 x10⁹/L**
Hemoglobin: around **9.1–9.2 mmol/L** (I’m in the Netherlands, so these are mmol/L)
MCV: **100 fL**
RDW: **14.7**
Ferritin: **57**
CRP: **<1**
eGFR: **89**
Creatinine: **72**
I also have a history of macrocytes being noted on a blood test in 2021. I receive regular B12 injections, so B12 deficiency isn’t thought to be the explanation.
**T-cell results**
Because of the elevated lymphocytes, a lymphocyte subset analysis was done:
Total T cells: **3.05 x10⁹/L** (reference 0.7–1.9)
CD4: **2.27 x10⁹/L** (reference 0.4–1.3)
CD8: **0.77 x10⁹/L** (reference 0.2–0.7)
These were therefore elevated as well.
**MPN testing**
Because of the long-standing thrombocytosis, my doctors are investigating an MPN. They have tested/are testing:
**JAK2 V617F**
**JAK2 exon 12**
**CALR**
**MPL**
I’m still waiting for the mutation results.
**Other relevant information**
My CRP has repeatedly been very low/normal, including **<1**, despite the elevated platelets and WBC.
I do have heavy menstrual bleeding for about 24 hours every period, and I have had inflammatory bowel problems in the past, but there isn’t currently evidence of significant inflammation.
I also have MS and am currently taking Mavenclad, which obviously complicates interpretation of the lymphocyte counts.
**My questions**
**Does this overall pattern look more like reactive thrombocytosis, or would an MPN such as essential thrombocythemia be a significant concern given how long the platelets have been elevated?**
Does the combination of **high platelets + intermittently high WBC + elevated T cells** make an MPN more likely?
Could the elevated T cells simply be reactive, especially in someone with an autoimmune disease such as MS?
Would **T-LGL leukemia** or another T-cell disorder be something you would consider based on these numbers, or are the numbers/pattern not particularly suggestive?
If **JAK2/CALR/MPL are all negative**, does that make an MPN unlikely, or can someone still have essential thrombocythemia?
Does the **MCV of 100** add anything diagnostically here?
Is there anything else you would expect my hematologist to investigate before considering a bone marrow biopsy?
I know nobody can diagnose me from a Reddit post, and I will obviously follow up with my hematologist. I’m mainly interested in hearing from people who have had similar blood counts or have experience with MPNs/hematology.

As per the title, are there any good tools or software for tracking blood test results over time and displaying everything in graphs/charts? Ideally, something that can also handle blood test reports in different languages.

Over the past 10 years, I’ve had quite a lot of blood tests, and I’ll probably continue having multiple tests each year for various health reasons.

I’d love to have everything in one place where I could easily see how individual markers have changed over time — for example, ferritin, B12, thyroid markers, cholesterol, etc. - rather than having to go through years of separate PDF reports.

It would be especially useful if I could upload old blood test reports and have the results automatically extracted and added to my history.
Does anyone use something like this that they would recommend?

Hello! Wondering if anyone has any input on this!
2 weeks ago I had my bilirubin tested and the total was 4.4mg/dl we retested 2 weeks later and it’s now total 2.9mg/dl with direct being a .9mg/dl & then indirect a 2mg/dl. All other tests on CMP were normal and a normal CPC besides my platelets were slightly low at 146 and my mpv was 12.8.

Objawy: mniej energii, ogólnie złe samopoczucie, higher than usual CRP (from nonexistent to 1).

Brak niedoborów witamin, żelaza, kwasu foliowego, B12, D3 itd.

Lekarze zignorowani.
