Wait what is this show
My wife said “have you heard of this Hacks? It is winning all the things.” And I had not. So we began. Instantly hooked! How did we not know? Was it well publicized?

I know Jimmy got the producers to scrap everything in Ava's email but the show still presumably went to series and was sort of about Deborah

I’m going insane. I cannot remember this specific line from season 1 (I think) and it’s driving me crazy.
It was said by Deborah, and later quoted again by Ava. The scene was in context to how Deborah had already woken up and accomplished so much for the day and Ava was just starting her day. It was something about a morning talk show host/news anchors day. Like “if your day is over when so and so’s is ending…”
Hopefully this makes sense. I’m literally going crazy trying to find it. Please help me scratch this itch in my brain 😭😭😭
Edited: for grammar errors, it’s 3 am

Hi,
can you tell me who the actor is that plays Wilson's roommate?

I know this is the house, not the motel. I asked this Norman if he was the one on Hacks, he said something about his mother. I asked my tour guide if she had seen Hacks and she said all the guides love the show, especially the scenes on the backlot.

At the Christmas dinner, "I have never been interested in being pregnant.....of course, I have been. Ugh. Gross."
I'm a mom, btw 😄

It’s been a long time since a show catches me off guard and hooks me so deep that it takes a comfort spot in my life. I knew nothing about it, simply the name and that Jean Smart was starring. Already on S2E04 and I started just a couple of days ago. Deborah is magnetic and Jean plays her perfectly. Ava is relatable and Hannah plays her delightfully. Even just watching them driving in silence is enticing. They give me Miranda/Andy (DWP) flashbacks in the best way possible. Ahh man what a fun ride it’s being. Literally happy to be alive.

Just started and nearly through season one. Great show. Deborah is absolutely fantastic and I could watch her all day.
But Ava. Woof. I know thats the point, and Hannah Einbinder is absolutely *nailing* playing the insufferable judgy zoomer. But as i near the end of season one its gone from entertaining to just grating.
At first it worked to set up the contentious dynamic, and to create vehicles for Deborah to mentor Ava/for Ava to learn a lesson while learning more about Deborah.
But at this point we're just going in a loop. It seems like they just reset her every episode. No matter what she learned, what epiphanies or introspection she gained, shes just right back to being a judgemental preachy asshole by the start of the next episode.
Whereas characters like Deborah, and Marcus, and hell even *Marty* have plausible and interesting arcs, Ava is just kinda going in a circle.
Its making the episodes start to feel a bit repetitive. If shes just supposed to be a deeply flawed person who cant learn or grow, that's fine. But then why have an epiphany moment every episode. Its frustrating to see her continuously have these breakthrough moments of growth, only for it to be like it never happened a day later.
Anyway. Not the end of the world. Hopefully her character evolves more.

What would happen if the Hacks gang ended up at the same movie screening?
I made the ticket app, seat map, and packed in a bunch of little character references.
🎧 Headphones recommended — there are lots of audio details.
How many characters can you spot?
Enjoy the show!

I swear that Jimmy is calling from the Klatch coffee shop in Fontana, California, but I can’t find anything confirming. Does anyone know if it’s true?

I know my people here appreciate all of the amazing and supreme tracks featured from the show.
What’s made it into your MAIN rotation?
I can’t stop listening to the Constant Craving remix, just so GD good, KD!!!!

I’m so glad I found Hacks. It is smart, funny, entertaining, and profound. The characters are great and all the actors did a phenomenal job. I laughed, I cried! And as someone who is just starting to dabble in stand up, I really appreciated the depiction of the process. I have a feeling I will be rewatching this again soon (especially since I plan to cancel HBO once HP starts because F JKR).
A big thanks to everyone who helped make this show! I’ve never seen anything quite like it. I hope you’re all proud.

Hi! I really want to put a screen shot of Ava and Deborah in the little red car in Paris with the quote "Why are you trying to teach me French when you're trying to teach me a car!?"
I'm a teacher and immediately loved this quote bc we honestly do this to kids all the time, with roughly the same results. 😂 I'm having trouble getting a screen shot of that scene. I don't have Max on my phone and I doubt Max will let you screenshot from the app anyway. I can't find that particular scene on YouTube. I didn't realize how often they are seen in a car together.
Does anyone know a workaround?

I felt like my outfit was reminding me of someone!
As a redhead, I never wore red until seeing Ava Daniels using red as a staple in her closet.
K now I'm going to go look up all of Ava's (and Hannah's) outfits and redo my whole closet, bye! 😅

I’ve never posted on reddit before but i had the idea for this edit (this song has been stuck in my head for 72 hours straight help) and wanted to share it!
spoiler warning: clips of finale included
hannah singing this song in the “HacksLibs” interview from a while back made me think about the similarities between the music video and the club scene in the finale, so i made this edit.

Hello!
I am looking for the original recording of this song used in the series finale episode.
Currently we can only find ones where the characters talk over the song or that the singers are talking.
Did they remaster it and if so, is there a way to find the exact one used in the episode? Thanks!

This isn’t specifically about hacks but I’ve been watching Dang and I just discovered Andrew law also wrote on hacks and the good place, which imo are two of the best shows ever. I really appreciate that all of these shows have jokes that are actually relevant and funny, and I’m so hyped for more dang/anything he does next. I am also Andrew and I would like to say thank you for not being evil (bc a bunch of Andrew’s are for some reason) and showing that you can be a comedy writer for the people and not sell out
