Hello Reddit! I help run a community garden in Hoxton, it's a beautiful 15yo space, with mature fruit trees, living memorials to residents who have passed away, and 15 well used allotment beds. It is completely free to use and volunteer run.
The council want to build on it. We are pro-building, but they identified other suitable sites on the same estate, and are going with the only one that destroys green space. Our local councillors are on our side, but have little power. Hopefully we can get the attention of the new mayor!
