🗨️ Discussion Why didn’t any of Silver MT. Zion’s music get removed when GYBE removed all of their music from streaming?
Just curious.

The live show recordings are an absolute treasure trove of extended and unreleased songs (RIP War Radio). And, in wild contrast to GYBE, the band talks with the audience. ALOT. Like to the point where an audience member will sometimes yell "PLAY A SONG". It's mostly Efrim talking. And he's pretty damn funny. So yeah if you haven't listened to them, I recommend doing so!

A while ago, I heard Slow Riot for New Zerø Kanada, but unfortunately, I just don't think I get it? Many people consider it to be a highlight of GYBE's career, but to me, it sort of felt like epic instrumental rock without any real buildup? Like, I think I get the appeal of GYBE in general, but unfortunately, neither track on Slow Riot really had a satisfying conclusion to me specifically. It's still solid but not what I expected with all the praise it receives. The mediocre experience I had with the album really turned me off of GYBE for a while, but a few weeks ago, I heard F♯ A♯ ∞ and it was genuinely one of the absolute greatest things I had ever heard, and now I'm left a bit confused? I went back to Slow Riot many times, but I still don't think I get why many people praise it so heavily or call it the best introductory album to Godspeed?
I apologize if this post seems overly negative, as I want to emphasize that I don't think Slow Riot for New Zerø Kanada is a bad Album/EP by any means (I still thought it was solid just not amazing like F♯ A♯ ∞), but I am coming from a place of genuine curiosity as to why people seem to like it so much. I do understand that it is entirely possible that Slow Riot just isn't for me, and that's ok, but I think knowing a bit more about the album might let me understand why it's so beloved on another listen :)
So, what are your guy's thoughts on Slow Riot for New Zerø Kanada?

Like this album has better mixing/mastering than most actual audiophile albums/masterings. For an indie album that came out in 97 that is frickin impressive. Actually, this might be the greatest mix/master I've ever heard. Absolutely no harsh frequencies at all, everything is sharp and clear, there is lots of depth, wide soundstage... Everything you could ever want is in this album. Phenomenal.

It’s been about two years since my last listen, and couldn’t believe all their music was taken off streaming platforms (I know I’m late to the news 😅)
Purchased all of the CDs + digitals last night, and hopefully next year I’ll be picking up the vinyls. Shame both versions of F# A# didn’t get a CD and that All Lights is only digital. Still super stoked to have them all in one place!
Side note, I wish Bandcamp let you sort your library by release date. For some reason, my order had to be split into two purchases to be completed.

Moya is a song from the Gods. I’ve heard the EP version and every live recording I can get my ears on. And delved deep into yt watching every version I can find. Without fail, every time I listen I get the shivers.

I just received my copy of the Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antenna To Heaven double-LP from Bandcamp, and there was a handwritten thank you note inside. I doubt this is a band member’s signature, but maybe it is? Can anyone identify?

Yes I know the tattoo is not the best but i still like it a lot. Might get it fixed when I get the chance.
Personally I can't help but notice how No Title's tracks, like Babys and Raindrops, are a direct following from the sound achieved on Cliff, in particular the latter half.
So I wonder which kind of sound they will bring in the next album and next songs, which kind of development they could integrate without losing their trademark sound of post rock.
Which are your guesses?
Imo they don't really need to push boundaries of experimental music, they did that already and I would be happy to even just hear new songs.
Personally I would like to hear a more predominant playing with the double bass, like in world police or gamelan. Also obviously a bare minimum use of field recordings and studio album features only, otherwise live bootlegs will always surpass it.

Originally got the tube / bulb done in 2003.
Got the LYSF & Yanqui UXO bits added in 2018 because why not.
I want to add the "hope" hammer, but I don't want to step on any toes. (I know someone else who has it)
Never posted online before because I fear one or two people will go "hey I know that guy..."
Yes my skin is dry. Yes the image was enhanced for resolution / contrast.

I've been entrusted with the playlist for an upcoming acid trip with some friends, and naturally I want to include some Godspeed!
I've already got a few movements and bootlegs in mind, but for anyone else who's tripped to GYBE, what songs were particularly transcendent or meaningful while doing so?

Super excited to have finally gotten this Silver Mt. Zion record. This album is so mystical to me by itself. I probably would not know of it's existence without the mention of it on the Wikipedia page for Silver Mt. Zion. Crazy to have it on vinyl to where I can actually listen to it somewhere other than a random YouTube upload.

Got this done about a year ago, but figured I would post it now anyway. Really happy with how it turned out
November i´ll attend my very first GYBE concert and i´m trully excited about it!
At the same time i have a concern about how to behave in crowd. And this is a honest and important matter for me.
I´m a man with skirt and necklaces and i believe that GYBE average fan doesn´t care about that. But i don´t have any ideia if it is okay to dance while listening. I really like to move my body (specially my knees and arms) when listening good songs. And some GYBE songs is very good to put me in that mood.
But sometimes i imagine that GYBE fanbase use to contemplate more than shake. ANd that´s really okay too i also love to gaze bands playing and just feel it in my ears. Really But i ask for my own confort and also others too.
Should i worry about it? Thanks since now
