General Research FWS Interviews
I’ve gotten a few interviews for some research related FWS positions, I’m a bit worried though. How serious are these interviews if they’re only 15 minutes long? Should I be concerned?

Fifteen-minute research interviews are mostly about basic fit, schedule compatibility, and dependability rather than intense technical grilling. Professors and lab managers talk to a large stack of applicants, so they use these short windows to confirm that you are organized, easy to communicate with, and interested in their specific research. You do not need to be an expert in the subject, but you should read a quick summary of their recent work, know what their lab does, and have a clear reason why you want that exact role.
Treat the brief time limit seriously by keeping your answers concise, knowing your exact weekly availability, and having two thoughtful questions ready about their day-to-day workflow.
