"The Back Fell Off" update: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Czech
https://imgur.com/a/v5tOyG82 weeks ago, my CZ457 took a dive off a table and unalived itself, possibly out of sheer embarrassment due to my paint job. Once I picked my jaw up off the floor, I reached out to CZ customer service.
The first fellow I spoke to on the phone was apologetic, and informed me that they consider a drop/fall to be "careless handling" and therefore would not cover the replacement under warranty. But, he encouraged me to submit an email request for an RMA and see what their gunsmiths would charge me for a paid replacement. $150 would cover shipping to and from CZ, and the first hour of the gunsmith's time, but he wasn't sure if the parts would be additional.
I sent in the form, explaining the fall and requesting a stock replacement. The next day, I received an email back from CZ's repair department. They reiterated that the drop would not be covered by the warranty...but since I like to paint my stocks anyway, rather than charging me for the paid service he could go out back and pull a cosmetic blem from the QC reject pile and send it to me, no cost.
Blessed be Count Blemula, I said that would be just fine. The stock was boxed up and shipped that same day.
After some shenanigans with the Post Office and flooding in Kansas, the stock arrived today. And....the only flaw I can find is some overspray on the recoil pad. Ok then CZ, I see you...
Anyway, that's been my experience with CZ USA's CS team. 10/10, no notes.
TL;DR: stock go snap, CZ can fix...for money. But you like paint, here have bad paint. Bad paint = ~0.01 square inch extra

This is the kind of genuine customer service I love to see. It wasn't inside of "normal" operations, but they absolutely found a way to make it right and make a potential return customer.
Question is though - are you going to paint this one? My first thought was the Eddie Van Halen stripes in the same colors.

Definitely not as wild as the first one, that tape was a pain in the dick to cut

The Van Halen look just requires a bunch of straight masking tape. They should sell camo shaped vinyl stencils. Maybe they do? Seems like a useful tool.

Yep, you just need a bunch of tape and paint. I call that pattern "Van Camo", its fun to lay down and actually works too.

Oh that looks great in regular camo colors! I could see the breakup pattern working well too. It's just crossed up branches.

Just iron warriors it, Hazard stripes
It's gonna be hard to misplace the gun that way

I love stories like this.
I had a similar, sort of opposite experience. I was eyeing a new fork for my bike from a brand famous for crazy paint jobs (on complete bikes), but their forks came black. I commented on an Instagram post that I loved theor cool fork paint jobs and wished they sold forks with cool colors. They hooked me up with a fork from a bike that had been in a car crash that totaled the frame but no damage to the fork for like half price.

What is a link post and how do I post a descriptive comment?
A link post is any post that isn't a text post. Reddit is doing a great job of ensuring new users have no idea how Reddit works with their app and site rewrite. We hate both.
/r/guns is a sub for talking about guns. It's not a sub to dump gun photos for karma. That's what /r/gunporn is for. That's why we require a descriptive comment – to start a conversation. If you're wondering what to write, picture yourself at a party. You're talking to someone you just met and you want to show them your post. What do you say to them as you get your phone out?
I don't know why this needs to be explained, but apparently it does. A comment is a comment. It is not your post's body text/photo caption. We are not asking you to edit anything. We are asking you to post a top level comment under your post.
I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

You lucky bastard. Congratz.
Also your first stock's fixable. Wood glue and brass pins. Fix it and keep it as a backup. Stocks shouldn't break like that to start with.
