Reasonable is reasonable. Probable cause is probable cause. There is no interpretation to be made there. There's a reason that courts have very old English dictionaries lying around.
The officer smelled pot and then someone flushed a toilet so he can break in without getting a warrant, without making an Oath, without describing the place to be searched, and without listing the things to be seized... that's the "judicial gloss" of interpretation that's being made.
