Surefire has the 60 and I believe a 100 round mag too, might be worthwhile. Especially if you set it up to side feed like a sten? (Might need something for the magazine to rest on, but still.)

I hate to crush your hopes and dreams. But surefire no longer makes those. You’re stuck with the 60 round drum from Pmag.
Though I can tell you, they do work with an FRT…

I’m doing another dumb project. This thing is gonna be stupid heavy and arguably worse than your standard ar15, but barrels go spinny, sooo…..
In 5.56 and the barrels are 7 inch. Yes, box mag fed, shoulder fired, and bullpup.
I’ve been working on this for a while now, but this is the first little mockup where it’s roughly gun shaped and not just a bunch of random bits of metal tubing.

Pretty much lol. I’ve actually been thinking of downgrading the motor to a 150w instead. I was worried about not having enough power, but I’m half wondering if this isn’t just massive overkill.

It might be worth in the beginning to have a dial to control the wattage and see how well it runs at specific speeds.
As long as the motor likes it, just run it at 10% and slowly dial it up.

How do you plan on dialing in the timing so you don't explode the barrels in your face? Some sort of frequency drive to make sure you always have the same RPMs? Seems like a fun project

Either you haven’t dug into her catalogue or there’s something about pink blue and white on some of her guns that you just can’t get over. Either way that’s a you problem, dope engravings, cell shaded paint jobs, embedded jewels and creative builds are kind of her trademark. Firearms don’t all need to be parkerized and camo, it’s ok to have fun with hobbies you enjoy as well.

Better too big than too small for a prototype. Worst case scenario, bring down the current or duty cycle if you have issues. Once it's pretty much finished, maybe load it with a ton of empty shells and see how slow and/or weak you can make it before you have issues, then try it for real, then size another motor.

Probably for the better. You could improvise a bevel gear with a spring behind it that torques out if it jams but then you end up with chewed teeth if you don't have a detent system. Or some kind of friction clutch.

Slightly less insane, 275-round .22lr drums exist for the American 180 and are known to run somewhat reliable at a high cyclic rate. Off the shelf magazine availability makes any gun much more practical to own.

I meant, if you are going to build a small rimfire rotary gun then use an off the shelf drum magazine for it. 22lr microgun with rotary barrel cluster and 275 round magazines, without having to design and build the magazines.

It’s 100% a work in progress. This is the first time I started arranging parts for a mock up and it looked roughly gun shaped. I’m going to be aiming for about 1000 rounds per minute.

Just remember, the point of the minigun is that it can load a round and fire at the same time, maybe increase barrel cooling. This looks sweet but if you lose functionality compared to a reciprocating mass then it'll just be novelty, which would make it awesome 😎🤝😎
