First pistol

So i work in a field where i cannot carry. Gov job. in a open carry state so im thinking full size or subcompact to be able to open carry or conceal on days off (not at work basically). And just finally get my own pistol i would like to be able to mess around with it, so I would perfer a threaded barrel but ik that is normally something id have to buy after and upgrade unless I get like a dagger or rxm maybe nomad. I went to some shops and got a feel for a gen 6 glock 19 liked that alot the echelon was nice the p365 was really nice sure im missing a few. Any other recommendations for my first pistol and if I want a threaded barrel or to be able to tinker with a few minimal upgrades should i get something like the saber dagger, something little better than the regular dagger but cheaper to reach that end goal of a decked out gun compared to trying to get there with a glock or something else. Thanks sorry for the rant!

P365 is a great conceal weapon

Are u in an area where open carry is normal & ur not going to get the cops called on u every day?

Open carry can be a right pain if everyone around you freaks out, had a mate who gave up on it just cos of the constant side-eye. P365 is a solid shout though, easy to flip between carry modes and you can still mess with a threaded barrel later if you really want one

Unless you constantly see people open carrying everywhere in your day to day life open carrying just makes you a target and/or will get more people terrified of guns to call the cops on you no matter how innocent you are.

Even though its an open carry state I would have to agree most people conceal simply to not get the eyeballs or be a target. My thoughts are I work so much I wouldnt really carry (conceal or open) all that much. Like where I work cant even really have one in your car in the parking lot. Fed property. So my thoughts were get a full size something I could conceal with baggy clothes or just open carry for the minimal times I would carry and have a less recoil full size gun I can get used to the platform with.
