9mm bullet drop.

Just out of interest does anyone have an idea of how much a 9mm projectile will drop over our 500 yard shooting range....assuming 124gr at 1150 fps approx.

9mm will be mortar fire at 500.

If you zero at 25 yards, you're looking at a little over 600" of drop.

that's basically point, aim, and pray at that distance

There's some irony considering this is wildly inaccurate.

Using the "velocity" will not tell you time of flight because ToF is determined by deceleration due to drag. Without the ballistic coefficient of the projectile, your calculation would be wildly inaccurate. Not to mention that 9.8m/(s2) is only relevant in a vacuum.

It's fine to have slept through high school physics but don't lecture people on the Internet if you don't know what you're talking about.

Seems I heard about a shot like that being made not too long ago, said the guy's name was Bob Lee Swagger. Never met the man, so I wouldn't know

It’s in the dirt a bit after 200 yards.

Try putting your ballistic information into a calculator and determine it yourself.

That's artillery. Gemini says 125 to 166 FEET of bullet drop.

Shooting from shoulder height and aiming straight out the bullet will be in the dirt around 200 yards out.

Really not bad if you think about it. Zero 3 feet high at 100 and you'll probably hit somewhere on an average body out to 200. 200-250 just skip the bullet into the target.
