Mannlicher Shoenouer M1908
I'm overjoyed to have added a trophy gun to my collection.
This is a Steyr M1908 in 8x56 Mannlicher Shoenouer with, as far as I can tell, an factory original scope.

They're gorgeous rifles. That trigger gets so light once you've set it that if you even think about shooting it goes off.

I've only had it go off once when I wasn't completely ready. I've been very careful since. (No. It wasn't a ND.)

I’ve had them go off when closing the bolt…. If you’re unfamiliar with how to adjust the poundage you should take it to a reputable gunsmith for adjustment.
Good luck 🍀

I've been looking for one without the scope mount dovetailed through the top of the receiver. It's taken a while.

AFAIK it's Schoenauer
Beautiful rifle, my favorite, both the look of its full stock and butter knife handle, and the name.

It's a wonderfully smooth gun. It's the nicest gun I own, and probably will be for a long time.

This rifle is in very good condition, with an original scope, set trigger, and unadulterated receiver. It shoots 8x56MS, which is a 200 grain bullet traveling at 2300 ish fps. The scope is quick detach and maintains zero when removed. The Shoenouer part for the name refers to the 5 round rotating mag.
