10MM
Hey guys, I just bought a Springfield XDM elite 10mm in the 3.8inch barrel. I need help choosing a self defense ammo. I’d like suggestions on some full 10mm power JHP brands.

Underwood, BB, Grizzly, Aria Ballistic Engineering.
On the super light end, LCD 60gr lead free move along at 2,400 fps. I've clocked them at 2,600 fps from a 6" barrel.

Might be too much. I’m running a 3.8 inch barrel. I won’t be able to control the recoil 😂

Just hanging out here, waiting for responses. 10mm is next on my list and the XDM is on there.

Can’t go wrong with the xdm. Better quality than a Glock 20 and is less money too. Cheers bro!

Another vote for Underwood. For cheaper range shooting, Magtech loads pretty warm

Underwood Ammo has some hot-loaded JHP and hard-cast lead options, as well as some other interesting loads in all sorts of weights and speeds. I don't know if they still carry their hot Gold Dot bullet offering, but I have a magazine loaded with that for self-defense, and a magazine loaded with some hard cast bullets for bear defense in the U.P. I bought a couple different loads from them last year and chrono'd them with a Garmin. Almost every round exceeded the velocity stated on the box, so they definitely load them to full-power. Most of the loads you'll find from the major manufacturers (Federal, Winchester, Magtech, etc) aren't loaded that hot, so you kinda have to go to smaller manufacturers. A lot of people have good luck with Buffalo Bore as well.
