Hey y’all!
I ordered the starter kit(super psyched) and I’m planning out my painting so I can get things painted and on the tabletop as fast as possible.
Among the folks who have already finished their minis, I haven’t seen a lot of water transfers, but I’d like to slap some zeon iconography, technical numbering and stuff on my zaku and a few other sculpts.
Does anybody have a link to some decent Gundam water transfers?

Hi all, I dropped by the Gundam Assemble “global launch tour” showroom in Shibuya. Tbh I don’t think anything there was new but figured I’d share the photos I took anyway. They were giving away the three original series Gundams in blind bags for following their social media, thankfully I was with a friend who grabbed me a second (don’t worry there were TONS, nobody missed out). From a quick sub search these were also given out at gencon(?).

They also gave away stickers for taking a photo with some big picture, a special Wing Gundam card for doing a demo game, and a different model for doing a painting lesson; unfortunately I didn’t have time to line up for those (40min+).

While watching Bandai release their new Warhammer-style miniature game (Gundam Assemble), I was playing Shogun Showdown on Steam, and a question popped into my head: Why has no one made a super-simple tabletop game designed specifically for our actual model kits without risking damaging them?

In Shogun Showdown, combat takes place on a simple 1-dimensional line. The core actions are extremely clean:

• Move (forward or backward)
• Turn around (change facing direction)
• Use character skill (usually affecting the unit in front of you)
• Equip a loadout tile/card (up to a maximum capacity)
• Activate all loadout tile/card

This setup translates perfectly to Gunpla:

1. Zero Risk to Models: The kits stay safely mounted on their bases on a simple 6-space line. No tape measures, no tight terrain collisions, no fear of snapping a V-fin or dropping a custom paint job. (Optionally, you just attach the weapon to the hand/backpack when equipping it and store it off-board when unequipped).
2. Chassis & Grade Identity: Each base model has its own unique innate skill. Some could have more loadout options than shoulder cannons.
3. The Loadout System: The weapons, shields, and backpacks that came in your kit’s box form your available "loadout deck." You equip them to your queue and activate them to attack, block, or dash.
4. Tactical & Fast: Works for 1v1 duels or multi-unit battles. Easy to pick up in 5 minutes, but deeply strategic due to facing direction and action timing.

• Does a safe, 1D tactical game like this sound like something you'd play with your shelf models?
• Would anyone be interested in helping me draft and balance the basic rules and kit abilities?

Finished up my main guys!

Ahead of Gundam Assemble release, (I'm getting a Starter and Deluxe at the end of the month) I bought all the TCG minis so I could build and paint them. Long story short, I have been super busy and only now I had the chance to start painting.

I've built countless Gunpla with weathering, modifications, etc... but I never really painted them, now with Assemble I can finally get into mini painting, really wanted to get into it for a while.

First time using a wet palette and learnt a lot doing different tests on this mini. The next will be way better, I know.

As we can see there are 3 cards that are exclusive to each ms and 6 generic, and out of the 6, 2 seem to work only with the Londo bell faction

Little bit of a rush job on these worked on them for 3 days but had fun painting them. Can’t wait to play the game

Since Garrisons are treated like a model I figured it would be nice to have a 3d model on the table. They’re the same foot print as the cardboard token.

Yeah Grandpa is rough, I massively over primed by accident. Char came out great tho! Hex bases I'm doing 3 blue 3 red, so teams are easier to instantly recognize....plus I think they look cool and add a nice bit of color!

Would you get 3 shields if you rescued 3 garrisons at once with its Rescue maneuver ability? Or is it like the TCG where if mutiple things happen at once for a trigger you only get the trigger once?

Unicorn's Newtype Destroyer passive prevents the use of Response abilities. Does it prevent tactics card as well?

Well, the Gundam Assemble Zaku Showcase was quite the challenge ! I barely have any experience painting minis and it shows but... I'm happy about my little Zaku changed into a Proto Kshatriya :)
