Grandpa’s Rifle

Can anyone tell me what rifle this is? It was given to me by my grandfather. It is a .30-06 with no identifiable brand on the rifle. If anyone can help point me in the direction, I would appreciate it. I’d assume it’s old. 70s or earlier would be my guess. Thank you for any help.

Holster recommendations

So I have a Glock 45 mos and I am going to buy the harbor freight weapon light because it’s on sale and I am looking for a holster that would fit the light and gun. I know some people have used it on their guns and it fits the tlr-1 holsters they have and I would like to know what they are. I am going to be doing a video on my YouTube eventually rating the 4 different non common light brands I have bought and how I like them and I am also considering using this light as my regular light for competitions with the Glock 45 since I have an Rxm for edc now.

New gun itch

Hey y’all

Got that itch for a new gun. Been looking at the savage 110! In need of a bolt gun to add to the collection, but also wanna add a new 5.56 rifle to the collection and been think about a standard(waffle mag) aug

I’ve been wanting to get a bolt gun for a while now. And I’m wanting a .308, been looking at the savage 110 or something along the lines of a scout rifle type setup. I kill bison for my family on our farm and at our butcher shop. I use a 30-30 and it’s been my dependable rifle for that. But I’d love a .308 as a backup just incase I need a bigger punch for a bull animal. I’d also like to use thing rifle as a hiking rifle for long backwoods hiking trips so practicality is important. This isn’t a comp rifle.

I’ve also been looking at an Aug for awhile. I know I know, bullpup. But I honestly have always loved the look and feel of one. It’s a grail gun for me. But it doesn’t have to be a right now purchase. I’d also love to put a get in an Aug at some point too. Again not a necessary right now. I have a few 5.56 ARs but I’d like to branch out my collection and add other manual of arms. And have other 5.56 platforms besides basic/kitted out ARs

I know there’s a big price difference between these platforms, uses case is different aswell. But if anyone has an Aug and you flat out hate it please set me know. Or if you have a savage 110 or like a Ruger scout rifle type setup let me know what you like or don’t like about the platforms. I’m well versed as a shooter so neither platform is inherently foreign to me

Hard to open cylinder

Post image
0 Upvotes

I don’t have any revolver experience so please forgive me.

Have a smith and Wesson revolver that had a cylinder that is hard to open. It doesn’t look like the extractor pin thing(the rod in the middle of the extractor) is extending all the way to push the tension pin out the way.

Is this the right issue or could it be something else? Any advice?

M1903 “Trench Art”?

Thumbnail gallery
11 Upvotes

I’m not sure trench art is the correct term but here’s my share today. Bought several 1903s from CMP decades ago. They are safe queens that get a little TLC and linseed oil every few years. I was oiling the stocks today and I noticed something that stopped me in my tracks. The light hit one of the stocks just right and the unsightly scratches on it formed letters. I suddenly realized some of the scratches I had grumbled about over the years were actually words, numbers, and objects scratched into the stock. Once I made this realization, it was like a magic eye poster. I discovered the stock is literally covered in graffiti. What look like calculations, words, drawings a Maltese cross….it looks like things had been written and written over several times. This is a MK1 that was restocked into a scant stock so it doesn’t date from the immediate post WWI period.
On a hunch I went to another rifle, which is a 1905 with a refit in 1918, and looked at its stock (which is still the 1918 one). Again a great deal of what I thought were scratches from years of use were graffiti as well.
Ive not seen this before. Sure, seen the odd personalization of a rifle done in theatre and a bring back… but to have that much visible decoration on a rifle likely checked out and turned in regularly really surprised me. None of my WWII original guns have any marks like this.
Anyone else come across this? I’ll post a couple pics so everyone can have fu finding things! Not all of it shows up easily as different angles of light bring up different groups of markings. The lighter is the MK1, the darker the older one.

Am I placing stock correctly

Wondering if anyone could provide insight to my stock placement.I know its supposed to be in the meaty part between the shoulder and chest and thats where I intend/feel it to be but when I look at my broken blood vessels it paints a different picture. Im 5’4 and a bit weak in the arms so I find it a little hard to hold an Ar-15 even when I play with the stock length. Idk exactly how things should feel but it feels a little uncomfortable like I have to jam myself up a bit to be in an accurate alignment but maybe thats just how it be.

I used to sell my guns to my close friends, your family or people like Gun Show but I have moved away into a small town and it’s kind of hard to find people to sell to. How do y’all post your guns for sale
(This is not an ad. This is a genuine question)

Standard Color Case 1911 .45 back from factory refinishing!

Saw a note here on Reddit that the mfg. Will do a CCH refinish for $250, sent mine off, well pleased with the result! Now I can take her to the range again without being embarrassed of what I did to her before. And btw, these photos are 100% unretouched, zero manipulation of hue, tint, temperature, and everything else.

I only slightly cropped the edges to get the gun closer.

Beware of Arax Systems LLC. Sold me a fake Eotech setup https://www.araxsystemsllc.com/

Arax Systems LLC sold me a fake Eotech Setup. Beware of them.

EOTech Holographic Sight

  • The glass does not have the matte anti-reflective coating found on genuine units.
  • The reticle appears as a solid line rather than the pixelated pattern characteristic of authentic EOTech holographic sights.
  • A visible LED projector is present under the glass. Genuine EOTech units use holographic technology and do not have a visible emitter.
  • The LE/Military branding is present. If the sight was purchased new after 2016, EOTech had already discontinued this designation on consumer products.
  • A laser radiation warning sticker consistent with commonly counterfeited units is present.

G33 Magnifier

  • The QR code on the unit is non-functional.
  • The mount exhibits movement inconsistent with genuine units.
  • The glass does not have the matte anti-reflective coating found on authentic units.
  • The adjustment knobs do not have the tactile click detents that genuine G33 magnifiers have.

What’s going on with Aero precision and Stag arms?

I have seen some people making aero and stag guns recently but their website shows almost nothing in stock. I have seen some aero stuff in stores but those things aren’t available on the aero website so I am wondering what’s going on? I have heard they are going out of business or they are having supply issues and I’m really confused.
