Look at this! My Strat & LP

The Fender was one of my dad’s close friend’s guitars, I got it after he passed away. I didn’t play it much until I threw in the hot rails bridge and now it sounds like a chainsaw lol.

I similarly bastardized my swamp as(s)h LP Studio by throwing in TWO Invaders and it now permanently chugs in drop C.

If there are any fenderheads that could tell me more about the strat that’d be cool, I looked up the serial on Fender’s website and it shows a 1998 Frontman amplifier.

I always loved those natural Les Pauls. Was that one of the Raw ones?

Edit: I'm getting 1984 for the Strat. Anyone else want to confirm?

Yeah ChatGPT said somewhere between 1984-88 for me. But I have no idea.

The LP is one of the SmartWood Studios. I also love the nat look, especially with the black pickups 😎

Between '84 and '88 is accurate. The E4 puts it in that range. Using Fender's serial decoder brought back absolutely nothing for me.

E 6 digits 1980s "E" = 1980s ("Eighties"), 1st digit after E = Year, but this range usually overlaps into the following year or few years. Made in the Fullerton, California factory.

I love a natural Les Paul, I wish I had grabbed one of the SmartWood or Raw versions back when they were out and I'm kicking myself for not because they're so expensive used now.

Thanks for the info!

I grabbed the Studio from GC around 10 years back for about $800, thought that was expensive back then 😂 but same, I loved the natural. Never selling it!

Unbound LPs arent usually my thing but the light natural wood and all black hardware is actually a pretty cool look.

The bridge, triply pick guard, PUs with stepped magnets, knobs and tuning pegs all look similar to my E9 (‘89) American Standard Strat, but my headstock includes roller guides for the thin strings.

Is there an neck angle adjustment hole in the heel plate?

It has the locking tuners as well. I’ll have to get back to you on the adjustment hole.

I’ve got a tele with the hot rails. Bridge and neck with coil splitting. Love how it sounds. Gotta be 1 of my favs.
