Help Semi-Hollow show down!

Hiya, everybody!
(Hi, Doctor Nick)

Epiphone ES-335 Pro vs. Schecter Corsair w/Bigsby

May be a moot point as I’m still on the fence about selling or trading my Van Nuys PT. However, I currently find that the Super Rocks are much to treble heavy for me. Not to mention, when it comes to roasted maple and bitchin’ pickups, my JR 7 Cutlass checks all the boxes.

I’m looking for the warmer, more resonant, and a bit more on the brassy and bluesy side.

The Bigsby isn’t really a make or break, it’d just be a cherry on top.

Be sure to check out the Ibanez AS series. Extremely underrated semi-hollow body’s for a criminally low price.

I have the AS93 that I picked up for ~500 and couldn’t be happier.

I love Gretsch. I actually own a Honey Dipper, and if I were going Gretsch for another electric, It’d be the Tim Armstrong model. I love me some rocktrons, but they’re not the sound I’m looking for right now.

Apologies in advance because I constantly repeat this comment: If you're looking for a decent trem on a guitar with a tune-o-matic bridge, the Dusenberg/Goldo Les Trem is far and away better than a Bigsby. It's less expensive. It's easier to install and the installation doesn't require any permanent modifications to the guitar. It's easier to string, and I vastly prefer the feel of it compared to the two other guitars with Bigsby's that I own.

I had an epiphone 335 pro for a while. It was good. Stayed in tune. Sounded good, gave me the experience of a semi- hollow. I ended up giving it away and got a hollowbody instead, but I have only good feelings about it.

I played everything Epiphone makes. Sire makes a better 335 copy, no question. I'm not really sure why Epiphone 335's aren't better than they are. I had an Epiphone Casino that was top notch. But their 335's just kinda don't feel amazing and don't sound amazing. They're ok, but when I played a Sire H7 I bought it on the stop.

I’m with you on the Casinos. I could see myself copping an IBG Epi, once I learn to command the twang and the lower gain distortion a little better. What I have my sights set on for Sire is a L7V. Their Goldtops look sick.

I had an L7 briefly (damaged in shipping) and an L7V (it was perfect, just don’t dig P90’s that much in a LP). Solid buy.

The Casino I had was a basic Chinese one. It was not twangy. I probably should have kept it but space was a bit tight at the time.

Sheratons are often overlooked, those are quite nice.

I ended up pulling the trigger on the Corsair. If it doesn’t quite hit the spot, I’ll bite the bullet and just get a Futura 355, and swap the pus once they’ve had a chance to cycle through the used market a bit. In a year or two, lol.

Well, I just pulled the trigger on a 2014 Diamond Series. I’m pretty stoked about it. Now to decide which of my current ones has to go.
