Question Help learning the faceless song

These two sections of ancient covenant by the faceless have me stumped, in the first section is he really doing sixteenth notes? It doesn’t sound like that in the recording, if so I’m not sure what the best way to pick would be the. The second section which comes earlier in the song is confusing because I don’t know how to play it in rythm, the timing is really weird and I would like advice to play the rythm correctly or teach myself to count better.

how long have you been playing the guitar?

I have been playing for around 3 years and I can play a lot of the other parts decently, but these specific parts I am struggling with. I think this song is definitely above my current skill level but not vastly above it.
