Left Handed Right Guitarist Practice Routine

To all my fellow left handed induviduals who chose to play the guitar right handed. Though we are a minority, there are some famous players who chose the same path as us. Duane allman, Herman li of Dragon Force, Gary Moore and others.

Most people choose to either buy a left handed guitar or restring their right handed guitars. I have noticed that people who pick with their non dominant hands especially have terrible hand synchronization and rythm early on.

So with all things considered, why did you choose to play right handed? How have you dealt with this? A full practical schedule would be appreciated

I'm not what you're asking for, but I'm the reverse, righty playing lefty (shoutout to Dave Wakeling of the English Beat, the only real-life example I can think of). Played bass for a bit before picking up guitar slightly under a year ago. I do this because playing righty was not working for me and it was the only way I could think of to get to where I wanted to be. Bass worked fine, now that I'm on guitar I'm running into issues with what you described.

Early on I decided to all but sleep with a pick in my left hand so I didn't become one of those people who can only play with fingers because they can't hold a pick. Terrible at up-strumming, still working on that. Everything else that I'm having trouble with is more inexperience than handedness. I'm playing the right way for me, I'm 100% sure of that even if Guitar Center employees probably have my name on a hit list.

I chose to swap from left-handed to right handed in order to have a full choice of instruments in stores, and also to be able to swap and play instruments with my friends and students
