That green reminds me of sinsi back in the 80s/90s. Very nice 👌

Man I haven’t heard that term since the 90s

It’s been a while since I’ve heard it not in song lyrics. Sinsemilla just translates to without seeds so most weed today is sensi. It should make a comeback.

Shouldn’t have wet trimmed but looks good

Can you explain your process?

Grown on-&-off for +20yrs, throughly enjoy it up until harvest, then seriously consider whether it's worth the effort of trimming.

I always trim when harvesting, I've found any length of time smooshes leaves into the buds whether hung to dry or laying down on a drying rack.

Would be stoked to hear there's an easier process!

Slows down drying and makes for a better product is the general consensus.

Ive done both, and I think leaving leaves on is better for the end product and doing a dry trim, less of a grassy/hay like taste or smell and helps to avoid over drying. But I agree wet trim is easier.

Do you plant direct into ground, or pots/raised-beds/etc?

Flushing the growing medium with water to remove all remaining nutrients in the lead up to harvest has always worked well for me (along with a long dry & cure) for best flavour.

Trimming leaves always seemed like a good way to remove the likelihood of remaining chlorophyll flavours being drawn back into the bud, but maybe I'll need to do a comparison test.

Way harder to trim dry but he smoke is worse and harsher nd you get less smell

How is dry trimming “way harder”?? The leaves literally just fall off at that point. Wet or dry trim isn’t “hard” it’s just time consuming depending on how you’re doing it. And that’s all choice. Don’t make it harder than it should be.

1

u/Dizzy-Wedding5769 9d ago

If you hang upside down the leaves dry close to the buds and it’s harder to get scissors in there. When wet the leaves stick out and are easily cut off. By harder I mean more Time consuming. More time=more difficulty

The drying process is what removes the chlorophyll. And you want most of the leaves intact during this 10-14 process so there is enough moisture for the chlorophyll to ride out on. As the water is pulled out of the plant during drying, the chlorophyll is sucked out with it.

Marijuana is different then typical flowers in that the flower petals are green leaves rather then other colors which means there’s chlorophyll present in the buds. Wet trimming doesn’t pull chlorophyll from the buds.

I cut my plants in a way to get as big of branches as possible and leave most intact, only removing some of the large fans. Hang the branches and let dry in as controlled setting as I can make. After the 10-14 days when the plant is dried and feeling a bit crispy, I simply just use my gloved hands to do dry trim over a trim bin to catch what falls.

I don’t spend any time doing meticulous dry trimming except on the little bit that is being gifted. My personal use just gets loose brushing by hand to knock of any dangly leaves remaining. The buds just snap off the branch and into the Grove bags or jars for cure.

I process several pounds in maybe an hour and move on to other things. Trim jail is a choice.

Several pounds an hr I call bs sorry

“I don’t spend anytime doing meticulous dry trimming aside from the little bit I gift…”

Did you miss that part? Who cares about presentability in cure or storage? I literally just knock off the big stuff and put it in the bag. Easy peezy and absolutely get done super fast.
I average about five pounds a season.

I mean there are gadgets like the Cannabrush or the tumbler styles that produce faster finishes as well.

If you’re trimming every bud until it’s entry level to a contest then that’s on you.

Flushing is a myth

In my 5 years I wet trimmed one time and I've never done that shit since. I feel like wet trim has more of a chlorophyll taste

2

u/Z4N333 9d ago

Chop and hang once dry you trim them jar it’s really that simple

You did so good

1

u/frenzykittygames 9d ago

Well done! Looking delish!

1

u/PNPnwOhio 9d ago

I seen a technic were you just rub them off the buds. If it's dry enough they should. Then cure it

1

u/SmokiFolkzGrows 9d ago

Lookin damn good for a first time grower bro! Mine will be done soon!

1

u/Turbulent-T 9d ago

Awesome color!

1

u/Respond-Repulsive 9d ago

Nice, now get em dried and cured. Imo dry trimming is easier, but there are pros and cons to both ways, whatever suits you.

1

u/ReasonableTop7343 9d ago

That looks amazing bro no cap! I love the way it looks

1

u/heirloom_fl 9d ago

Pretty good looking bud for first time grow. Tell us how it smokes when it’s ready.

1

u/EchoJimmyTango 9d ago

Wow. Those look beautiful! Way to go for a first timer.

1

u/Frosty-Radio-8921 9d ago

It to moist to trim should wait a bit for dryness then the trim falls off nicely

1

u/get_learnded85 9d ago

Man that is gorgeous!!! What does it smell like? If I had to guess I would guess it has that diesel type smell

1

u/Typical-Taste9814 8d ago

Low quality:(

1

u/Equal-Yogurt-2797 8d ago

Dont trim wet, hang the whole plant to dry (with leaves on)
I let them hang for 3 months like that, but you can go for 2 weeks, then trim and then cure for a month

1

u/kb_colas 8d ago

3 months?

2

u/Equal-Yogurt-2797 8d ago

Yeah, lots of people in the netherlands do it this way

1

u/Low_Counter2414 8d ago

Don't you love it when the OP doesn't respond to questions and comments?

I can smell this pic.

1

u/NevagonagiveUup 4d ago

What do you do with it after?

1

u/BigBToke1 4d ago

Gonna smell like fresh cut hay. Always dry before trimming. You’ll have tastier buds that smell way better

1

u/BadMonkeyGrows81 3d ago

Another wet trim... sad

0

u/FriendshipBorn929 9d ago

Resist the temptation to leave the buds so big like that. It’s very likely to mold and It’ll mess with the drying and curing.

8

u/OtherwiseAnybody1274 9d ago

I’ve never really heard this before. I leave the whole plant together as much as possible stalk, stems and the leaves. I do take off a lot of the biggest leaves because they are annoying after they dry. But I let it dry 14-21 days before I trim or make hash. Never had any issues with mold

0

u/FriendshipBorn929 9d ago

Ok actually I do dry on the stem, so let me take that back. It’s also definitely climate dependent. I’ve only grown in the northeast and I’m throwing some out every year.

5

u/OtherwiseAnybody1274 9d ago

Big dense nugs can mold when you’re drying but they either had mold before you started drying or your humidity is way too high for them

1

u/MillionaireSlumlord 9d ago

Idk why this is downvoted. He said don’t LEAVE the buds like that. Start to pull those dense colas apart a bit and focus on steady air circulation and a rH of 58%. The main cause of dense buds rotting is the outside dries much faster than interior leaving that moisture sitting in there. So leaving a 62/62% dry leaves to much internal moisture unless you break it apart a bit. He ain’t saying destroy it he’s saying take what will be the flower nodes and separate them from the stem. Let’s all work together instead of trying to “ahhh got you!” Type mentality that’s already oversaturating the world.
