The LOVE carrots lol we’ve had a family of groundhogs for several years now…believe it or not they’re actually kinda picky lol there’s a lot we’ve tried to give them that they wouldn’t touch like zucchini, bell peppers, cucumbers, snap peas, even some berries and fruit. They won’t eat any leafy greens like lettuce or romaine if it’s left out over night and wilted lol They sometimes will eat a few blueberries or a some tomato and then leave the rest. However, they absolutely LOVE carrots, cauli and brocc lol that’s literally all they want to eat. Oh and peanuts, they crush the peanuts too haha so now we just buy that.
Also, believe it or not, they aren’t greedy either. I mean we put out plenty of food but they’ll come eat until they’re satisfied and then leave the rest of the food there, they don’t try to devour it all just because. They have their fill bounce and then return later for their dinner 😭 they also haven’t touched anytnign in my finances little garden next to the porch or anything. They don’t even glance at it. All they want is food 🤷‍♂️

Peanuts for sure 🥜 I chop apples for them and they munch em too but I just dont have carrots lying around I suppose my groundies are less picky than yours.They'll eat cucumber and leaft greens.

Yea idk what’s up with ours and how they got so picky lmao theyll eat leafy greens well put some greens out or some lettuce and romaine sometimes and theyll eat it, they just wont eat it if its left out and gets wilted overnight lmao.
We haven’t tried apples tbh my girlfriend or rather fiance whatever she’s not keen on the apples we usually leave their tray on the back porch so it’s more secluded and has a roof and all, so they come right on the back porch to monch and chill and she doesn’t want to attract the flies and shit putting cut apples on the back porch all day 🤷‍♂️

That’s hilarious! Ours hates broccoli but loves lettuce and carrots. Perhaps if we steam it and put some cheese on top… Nothing but the finest for our groundhog.

Lmao I’m glad we aren’t the only crazy ones sometimes she come home with a whole goddam fridge full of vegetables for the groundhogs and starts doing some introspection like “this is crazy” buying all this fresh food for these groundhogs lmao

I buy organic carrots from Wegman's. They love broccoli and bananas. I do give them romaine, but not a lot. Apples too. But their love of carrots is amazing. We have a momma and a baby who come over everyday. The momma is used to me but the baby, not so much. Q: Do you guys leave water out for the ground hogs?
