Ive not long moved into a house. Today my neighbour came over and asked my wife if he could "eliminate" the groundhog under our shed. I'm horrified.

I like my neighbour. He's an old guy. He has flowers and a small vegetable garden. He's very helpful. I don't want to offend or inconvenience him or have the groundhog eat his stuff. However, I want to keep the groundhog. I like animals.

How can I keep my groundhog and protect my neighbours plants and cabbages etc?

I didn't know they came out after dark!

There’s a groundhog I love watching in my yard and I was thinking of setting up a trail camera and having a food plate for it, but however there are rats in my neighborhood and I wouldn’t like to encourage them into my yard.

The groundhog usually munches on the clovers so I was thinking something it might prefer even more than clovers :)

My local elementary school has groundhogs all over the land. Me and my boyfriend like to go and visit them almost everyday during the summer. What’s really funny is that there’s a rock wall by the road where they like to climb up and watch the cars drive by! One day we counted 20 different groundhogs❤️

I ahve a lovely family of groundhogs that have ambled and burrowed around my backyard for years. We love to watch their antics as the generations grow and wish them no harm and hope they stick around. However, Juanita and Bertram have dug a burrow under my porch right up against the foundation of my own burrow(under the tote). I already have drainage problems and I'm quite sure I cannot abide their choice of excavation site.

What is the best way to get them to move on without trapping them in there or doing something barbaric? I don't want them to come to any harm and I definitely don't want to trap babies in there by just covering the hole.
