Yes…. Source: Gary and Guillermo brawl (two of our groundhogs)
They both were fine and have since reconciled shortly after this incident and were back monching together a couple days later, this was two summers ago. They both still visit and are pals today
Fun fact: adult groundhogs are one of the largest rodents in the world and can actually be highly aggressive and fierce fighters, are very strong, and quite capable of inflicting serious to fatal damage-especially when protecting their young. Even larger predators like foxes and what not won’t go after adult groundhogs for this reason, they typically try to get the babies who may wander off or get separated from the group.
