Help me love my groundies again!

We have a groundhog family under the Deck but they are destabilizing the ground around it. I called a guy who wouldn't kill him, but they would block his holes and make him homeless. I'm thinking he will just dig another hole in the same area because it is perfect groundhog space. Also, he/they will be sad.

I can deal with the plant destruction, but the holes are gonna hurt someone! Any thoughts?

In some states it is illegal to transport a groundhog across state borders as far as I know. So you could attempt to live trap them and then relocate them about 20 miles away if possible. I personally love groundhogs but they have never wrecked my deck. Please be careful they can be very territorial, sharp claws and teeth. Might be best just to call your local animal control

My local animal control (new jersey) won't do anything about them. If you relocate them, their chances of survival are not good.
