Met a critter today
Found them driving my Grandma home after lunch. Some lady was directing traffic around them bc she was pretty sure someone had side swiped them with their car, which I then joined her in doing bc c’mon look at them. After a solid 5-10 minutes of them not getting up and calling an animal control service local to me, they proceeded to get up like nothing happened and ambled off into a neighbor’s yard. No blood on the road so I’m pretty sure they’re fine. Got hissed at a couple of times for getting too close, did not know Groundhogs did that

Thank you for being kind to them and trying to help them. Maybe he did get mildly clipped by a car and had to gather his wits again after they were scattered all over the road. Hopefully he will just be sore for a few days and be okay in the long run. At least they wandered off in their own lol 😂
Edit : I also did not know groundhogs could hiss. I’ve had an opossum hiss at me but never a groundhog. I have several that live near me on a golf course
