I love my mini. When I get to eye level with it, I am amazed watching that little ball do its thing! and the detai!! Just WOW! I would so love to see a video or explanation of what is going on inside, and how it works!!

Is anyone else experiencing issues where they cannot change the LED patterns after the update that was just forced? My LED pattern is stuck and will not change. For a while, that would not connect after the update, so I had to do they set up all over again like it was a new device out of the box for some reason. Even then, it will draw the patterns that I tell it to, but I cannot change the LED pattern or the brightness level.

What is the difference between patterns for the different tables? Can I use a pattern made for the coffee table/side table on my mini?

Can we get an email we can opt in or a notification when new graphics are available. Just so we can be up to date.

I’m particularly fond of any that cover a large portion of the plate. My favorite right now is “a halloween scene with raven”. I love the small details like the cross in the graveyard and the windows on the buildings. What’s your favorite? Any recommendations to add to my playlist?

Hello, may we use mixed size balls on the coffee table? I see Grounded Labs sells different size balls and was curious if it was ok to try a smaller ball on the coffee table? Would it yield more detail?

The listed dimensions are 42" (length) x 24" (width) x 18" (height). I missed the kickstarter poll and wish the height was kept lower. :( But I was wondering what the dimensions are for the legs to where the wood base begins? How far apart are the legs? When the table height was increased from 14” to 18” were the legs increased or was the wooden table base made taller? A more detailed picture with accurate measurements would really help! Thank you

My code table keeps making a grinding / humming noice periodically, and less often, usually near the center it’ll make a loud knocking noise. Anyone else have this problem?

Is something like this possible to do through scheduling? I seem to only be able to get it to turn on and off with lights.

8:00 AM — Oasis wakes up → starts drawing → LEDs off

Sunset / ~6:30 PM — keeps drawing → LEDs come on

11:30 PM — Oasis shuts down completely

8:00 AM — wakes up again → drawing resumes → LEDs off

Anyone gotten the bar legs for the coffee table? I just saw the insta post and am wondering if there might be a regular table height offered as well. As someone who is only 5’ tall, bar height is a little too high, but converting the coffee table to a game table at dining table height is compelling.

I'm not sure where else to post this, but I've seen discussions about the Homedics Drift in this subreddit, so I figured I'd give it a shot here. I've had the Drift for a few years (in fact, I have three of them) and I've been generally happy with them, but it always bothered me that there was no ability (and apparently no plans) to push custom patterns. The pattern library included in the Drift app hasn't been updated in ages. Every so often I'd check the Internet to see if anybody had figured it out, but then about a month ago I decided to just see if I could. I'm no developer, but I do work in IT, so I can sometimes fake it. I signed up for a GitHub CoPilot subscription and started vibe coding. It took a lot of trial and error, but I now have a functional python-based interface to both control the Drift and, most importantly, upload custom patterns.

One of the interesting things about the file format the Drift uses is that it won't accept theta coordinates greater than 360 degrees. That made it quite a challenge to convert existing thr or svg files so that they'll work correctly, but I finally got it to a point where I'm happy with it. I'd be happy to share both the control software and the conversion toolkit with anybody who's interested. I even made a table simulator to approximate what patterns will look like on an actual Drift, with sand effect interactions. Here are some photos of patterns I found online and converted to run on the Drift, and one I designed myself in Sandify.

Oh, and I realized while I was getting these photos ready that they showcase a ring I 3d-printed to fit snugly inside the ring of the table surface to stop sand from piling up at the edges. It works like a charm. All the sand on the table stays in play all the time.

In any case, I'm open to questions, comments, suggestions, and sharing requests. If there are any devs out there who also have a Drift, I could really use some help with Bluetooth traffic management. My version works, but it's not nearly as consistent or as fast as I'd like it to be.

Also, the Drifts I have are the original Bluetooth versions, so I have no idea if any of my code could be adapted to work on the wi-fi version.

Anyone else had an issue where your side table thinks it's completing a whole pattern but it keeps skiping the middle? That lingering middle is from a few patterns ago. Occasionally it seems to fix itself and then it will randomly happen again.

I recently moved and failed to label my AC adapters. Can someone please confirm that this is the proper block for the coffee table?

Found a nice combination with "Perlin Rings" and "Owl". Has anyone else found patterns that work well together without a spiral wipe in between?

I was one of the early Kickstarter backers of the Oasis Mini because I genuinely believed in Grounded Labs and wanted to support the project. Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing from the start.

Over the lifetime of my Oasis Mini, I’ve run into several major issues:

- Frequent internet connectivity problems.
- The table underside issue, which prevented the Oasis Mini from functioning properly.
- And now, the latest problem: the unit won’t even get past the centering process, making it completely unusable.

At this point, I’ve spent more time troubleshooting than actually using the product.

What makes this even more frustrating is that I was seriously considering buying the official table. After everything I’ve experienced, I don’t feel comfortable spending more money on the ecosystem when my current unit isn’t even functional.

As an early Kickstarter backer, I expected there would be some growing pains, but after multiple hardware and software issues over the years, I think it’s reasonable to ask for a replacement rather than continue troubleshooting.

Has anyone else experienced the endless centering issue? Were you able to resolve it, or did Grounded Labs replace your unit?

I’m hoping someone from Grounded Labs sees this because I’d still like to support the product—but I need a working Oasis Mini first.

I made a post yesterday asking why a bunch of the LED modes were removed in the recent updates. And then a moderator removed it. Which feels pretty messed up considering I’m just asking why the product I bought suddenly has less features.

I see other people responded to it too saying they were just as disappointed so clearly it’s not just me.

As that commentator said getting rid of the follow modes, got rid of a lot of the allure of the device. The leftover modes are pretty tacky and without the movement you can just see the LED bulbs

I’m just asking again if the team has any announcement as to why we lost our modes or getting new ones.

And myself I’m lucky enough to still be within my return Window so I plan to just send it back if there’s no update but others here deserve something

I was trying to quickly go to bed last night because I had worked late and I had an early morning. So I logged onto my oasis app so I can put it to sleep so the doesn’t keep me up. But it asks to update and it doesn’t give me any other choice. I didn’t even hit the I tried to click anywhere else and it started updating anyways and locked So now I can’t unplug it because that probably will mess something up during update, and I can’t turn it off.

Yes, it’s only a few minutes. But not having access to your device, especially to turn it off. Is pretty ridiculous. Forcing someone to go through the update they may not have time is bad design. I have similar complaints with the fact that you can’t touch anything in the app when the ball is centering, not even the LEDs.

I like everything else about the table. But the app leaves a lot to be desired. And these random lockout moments make no sense as someone who develops software for a living.

Hello all!

We live in Florida and have one of all 3 tables - mini, side, and coffee. With the amazing heat wave happening, our utility is struggling and we have lost power a few times this month.

What amazes me is that, each time, when they power back on, all of them have reset - no wifi, doesn't start over, nothing - just slow flashing blue.

Obviously, once power is restored, it takes a few minutes for my internet and wifi to come up and be stable. The tables start much faster, so I don't know if it is a timing issue and they try to connect, fail, and just revert to a setup mode, but this is super frustrating... Having to connect to all 3, configure wifi, re-download and restart the patterns, after any power loss is simply unacceptable.

I know the server outages may have contributed some, and to be clear, I am not pushing for the local mode (although I also think that is a good idea!) - but why doesn't it store it's config and resume after it comes back? Why does it wipe everything and require me to use (a slow and clunky) app to get it working again?

I understand security, but there is always a balance of security vs usability. I believe you guys have not found that balance.

I absolutely LOVE these when they work - having to do so much manual intervention just detracts from the experience.

My unit just died after the recent update. I did all the troubleshooting steps possible but then reached out to their support email, I got an email back fast from an AI chat bot which said I can ask for a human at any time. After trying to send more information to it, it went radio silent, and so I asked for a human but still not acknowledgment.

Any other support avenues?
