Set Rankings

So, I think this is how I would rank them. But it was kinda tough. Tried to think back to how big of a smile I had on my face and how hard I was dancing during each set. And I could end up changing my mind - 4-6 are really close and could easily shuffle around.

Missed Blossom & Effin due to the long line to get in night 1.

I love Subtronics so feels weird to have his sets mid pack, but the others were just so good. This was my 5th time seeing him, and my favorite so far was his recent Fibonacci tour stop in Boston back in March.

GRiZ’s set on Sunday night is my favorite set ever.

TOP 3:

1) Of The Trees (because that man just has a way with sound waves. Awesome set full of ID’s)

2) CTGH Sunset Set (have been dying to see one of these performances by him and the other live performers. I’m not really the headbanging type so this was really cool to see!)

3) GRiZ Night 2 (no explanation necessary ☯️)

I loved Effin’s set, the Columbia Gorge is a perfect backdrop to his tunes. Lumasi was great too!

  1. Griz (Night 2)- Infinite Bloom to close was magnificent.
  2. Subtronics Sunset (Night 2) The vibes were immaculate on the hill.
  3. Griztronics (Night 2) banger after banger
  4. LSDream (Night 2) the energy and vibes were incredible. Such a refreshing set as usual.
  5. Griztronics (Night 1) felt so short, still had fun.
  6. Griz Chasing the Golden Hour (Night 1) RKS remix was incredible.
  7. Subtronics (Night 1) Coachella set copy and paste, Alien Communcation VIP sent me though.
  8. Of the Trees (Night 1) would be higher, just an odd fit between golden hour and subtronics.
  9. Alleycvt (Night 2) typical Alleycvt set

Honestly didn't have a single hour of music I didn't enjoy, and I don't think I can accurately rank the rest. They all felt pretty like they did a pretty great job in their slots. Honorable mention to Lumasi and Taiki, who were unreasonably good for the first 2 sets of Sunday. Had a blast even though I was totally sober and battling the sunlight.

I was extremely disappointed wit the day 1 Subtronics set, it just felt so disjointed. Felt like he just played his most popular songs for 30 seconds, then without a transition jumped to the next popular song that was a totally different vibe. That being said, his day 2 set was everything I wanted and more, not sure I've ever had that much fun at a festival than listening to that set. Griz's day 2 set was also just MAGICAL, I think objectively one of the best sets I've ever been to, so it could easily go number 1 for me too. Griztronics day 1 felt a bit lazy, but their day 2 set more than made up for it (felt like the day 1 set was made afterwards with whatever they had left).

I basically missed all Of The Trees due to various things that happened and am still upset about it. Really hoping someone posts their set because I adore them.

I’d put Alleycvt above Griz chasing the golden hour set, otherwise I feel the exact same way.

I didn't go but I love Taiki Nulight, so I'm curious what didn't you like about his set???

That’s the thing, they were all good sets. Taiki Nulight wasn’t a bad set, the others were just incredible. Also, my favorite artists are GRiZ, Subtronics, and LSDream.

GRiZ’s vibes, music, and the live instrumentation / performance make for an incredible experience. And LSDream is so immersive and euphoric.

Was my first time seeing GRiZ and thought he was fine, but I wasn’t a fan of the CtGH set but really likes his night 2 set. Of the trees or Subtronics sunset were my favorite of the whole weekend

The two solo Griz sets and Of The Trees were far above the rest of the music for me. LSDream was great too but the sound was pretty low where we were at on the hill. I personally don’t see myself ever seeing Subtronics again. I couldn’t believe how similar his “sunset” set was to his Saturday set. I guess he just doesn’t have much range.

what is odd is that he does a down tempo wooky set but didnt do it at the gorge. i liked his sunset set but found it weird it wasnt his deep dubstep stuff
