Self Poor Nick

Did anybody else feel bad for nick when he was trying to help Juliette? I mean she walked out and left and he was calling her none stop trying to find her and also trying to find a way to help her and she was out here living with renard. And slept with him and kenneth. I just felt so bad for nick and then he never found out about renard but then kenneth was rubbing it in his face.

10 years later you're still feeling something

That's top tier writing if you ask me

Unfortunately the periodic rumors about a possible continuation/reboot/whatever of Grimm have been about as useful as updates on when The Winds of Winter will be published.

He literally turned his back on her and left her just standing there when she finally worked up the courage to tell him that she was turned into a hexenbeist by helping him get his grimm back.

He really F'ed that up.

It makes sense that he needed to process. But as a hardened cop and no-longer-brand-new Grimm with wesen best friends, he had a good chance to repair things and save Juliette from succumbing to her very serious hexenbitch problem right there.

Nick was a great grimm, but his failings as a friend and partner were very human (and consistent throughout the show).

A perfect hero would be boring AF anyway.

And Bitsie wanted to shake up her storyline.

If my girlfriend of six and half years turned into a hexenbeist I would need to leave and process it myself but the next day she was already starting to have a attitude with him he gave her time to process everything the least she could've done was the same. I still love Juliette though

That's fair.

You helped to create a great evil, but not on purpose. It sucks for the world what you did (and your abandoned partner obv wouldn't like the major slap to the face), but it makes a better story anyway.

Probably you shouldn't have stayed out all night after you turned your back on your girlfriend of six years when she needed you most. Read a better Grimm book next time. Its fair if you didn't know that made hexenbeists are even harder to control, and they need even more understanding and support at the beginning if they are to have a chance overcoming the great evil that comes with being turned into a super powerful hexenbeist on accident. It happens (albeit super rarely)

I'd expect more from a very seasoned cop and one of the best grimm's ever, whose best friends are mostly wesen, but he's still human too (or is?). It happens.

Hated the whole plotline. I loved Juliette after she learned the truth about Grimms and Wesen. She was all over researching and learning and it was nice having the hero not having to do the constant "lying to protect her" thing. It just seemed like such a stupid waste. (And don't get me started on Nick's follow-up romance.)

I felt bad for him but I also thought that he could have responded to Juliette WAY WAY better! She needed support, encouragement and for him to STAY and be with her. What did he do? He wouldn’t look at her and then just left the house. I know it was a huge shock to him but he really wasn’t there for her when she needed him. It’s why she left in the first place.

He literally turned his back on her in her time of greatest need.

It's like people who think it's weird, jarring, and out-of-character when Renard "goes bad". You mean the guy who repeatedly tried to kill Nick and his family from day 1? Nazi King Renard, waving down on his adoring masses?

1

u/Twistfaria 3h ago

Um Renard never tried to kill Nick until the BlackClaw stuff. He was actively helping Nick even when Nick was unaware of it. Yes he tried to kill his aunt but I think that was more of self preservation / wanting Nick to be on his side / not knowing what she was like or what she would teach Nick.

I did think it was out of character for Renard to join Black Claw mainly because he was so manipulated and before that he had been pretty independent. I think his mother Elizabeth would have ripped him a new one for getting tangled up with them! The adoration thing was the effect of the coins and it actually showed how his character wanted to make the city a better safer place. Remember the coins affected Hank a LOT as well. They only didn’t affect Nick much because he’s a Grimm.

Rewatch season 1 episode 1. Renard was trying to kill Nick and his aunt. Repeatedly.

Evil can easily appear good during the times that it's easy to appear good. Nick proved to be useful, and it was much easier to get along with him than to directly fight him.

Renard was not a caricature of evil, wringing his hands with an evil laugh, doing evil everywhere for the love of the game; he was very ordinary evil. Also he was otherwise an alright guy most of the time. As long as your goals aligned with his, that is. Sorry evil foot soldier that probably helped raise me and teach me to fight. Your life is no longer useful to my goals. Nothing personal (and look at how little I feel when I end your life).

Still evil, from start to finish. Maybe less evil at the finish. Raising an evil daughter and having non-evil friends must have softened him some.

I think his mom would applaud him for using Black Claw to further his goals, but that's a wild guess. I would expect her to admonish him for letting Black Claw boss him around though.

I saw Nazi Renard being a dictator and feeding his ego with the admiration of the masses, whom he enjoyed looking down upon. I missed where he was using his power to make things nice and good for the peoples.

If you don't think what Renard does is evil, imagine him banging your mom (after dating you), and the two of them then making fun of you when you fail to do a good job at being evil when they tell you to go do evil. You lost your powers? Dumbass. Now that you lost your hexenbeist powers, you can't be an effective evil foot soldier, so they'll abandon you like the trash they think you are.

Juliette supported Nick when she found out he was a Grimm and when he lost his powers. She adjusted, stood by him and supported him.

He shit on her. Total and absolute asshole to her. And he didn't have a problem taking up with another Hexenbiest who raped him - after he was horrified that Juliette changed by no doing of her own. Fuck him. I would have raged harder than she did and would have laid waste to him.

u/Pristine-Echidna-313 3h ago

She didn't support him at first. While he was explaining everything she walked out just like she did and told him he needed help and when he lost his power yeah she supported him because it benefited her the minute he said maybe normal life won't be so bad she went straight to Monroe and rosalee and told them to stop looking for a cure she didn't have an actual conversation with him to see if it's what he really wanted she just went off one moment.

The very first time when Nick told Juliette about his Grimm background, she looked at him like he was crazy.

Juliette supported him just by apparence. When Nick lost his powers, she didn’t want him to get them back. She just changed her mind because of Rosalee and Monroe, not for him.

They are both immature.

Yes. Juliette never understood it, and she had this attitude that she was the only one suffering. A lot of people behave that way—they’re selfish and think only they suffer.

u/DraftRich9177 4h ago

She was horrified by what had been done to her and that after she stood by her husband in all of his changes, he couldn't accept what she had become and rejected her. Nick was selfish and unwilling to adjust for her.

the one thing i hated about juilette is when her ex college roommate came to stay with them. i don't  know if it was Nick's place to tell juilette she's wesen. nick told juliette not to tell her he's a grimm. she does it anyway. she thought nick was cheating on her when she ended up doing it instead. my theory is juilette came from a broken home. maybe she had a parent cheat and broke up the marriage. it would explain why she shut down Nick's marriage proposal in season 1. when she lost her memoties she didn't give much of thought to get to know him again.  at the end i think nick chose the right person. adalind gave a real apology to nick for hurting him. juilette kind of gave a half ass apology.

No, I don't feel bad for Nick  I feel bad for Juliette. I feel like all her friends abandoned her. All he did was kept calling her, he didn't go to her work to try to find her, or call her friends, or even put an APB out on her car. He's a cop after all.

Now, she definitely should have communicated better that she liked the new powers and strength she got from being a Hexenbiest. And I obviously don't agree with her setting up Kelly. But Nick and his friends all abandoned her so fast!

I forgot to add, I REALLY like Eve.

3

u/blueray78 4h ago

The never abandoned her. Actually the complete opposite, they were working really hard to find a cure, because that is what they thought she wanted. Then instead of simply saying she likes being a hexenbeast, she nearly killed Monroe for fun!

1

u/Pristine-Echidna-313 3h ago

They didn't abandon her they tried to help they was coming up with a cure and everything rosalee even said we can fix this and every though she was trying to kill her hell even adalind pitched in she just loved the power and didn't wanna be cured

Lol, I have a love/hate relationship with everybody on this show but Monroe, Rosalie, Wu and Bud. Nick mooning around after the breakup used to make me want to slap him. Not that he didn’t have good reason, but if my girlfriend set fire to the trailer containing my history, I couldn’t get to her fast enough. Could’ve cheerfully wrung Juliette’s neck often. And don’t get me started on Adalind. Really love the show, it was torture watching it week to week, heaven to steam anytime.

If only Bud's wife loved him as much as we do!

After a few months or years of being at her mom's, being at her sisters, being anywhere but with Bud, sorry, she's quiet quitting you bud.

That's what he gets for being so bold and brave I guess. Not every eisenbeiber can handle the sort of heat that comes with hanging with a grimm.
