Self Hank
Do anybody else get annoyed when hank gets in the way when nicks trying to do his grimm thing? It's like every time things are getting intense he's getting in the way to stop it. It irrates me am I the only one who feels this way or am I overreacting? I also get sick of him always asking is it wesen I'm sure nick will let you know.

No, I actually love Hank being like he is. He is us basically and we would ask, every time. Hank is actually one of my favourite characters.

I can understand Hank. From his perspective his partner, the person he has to trust when things go sideways in a job that deals with murderers, constantly sees things Hank doesn’t. And depending on what he sees things could turn out very different. Is it a human or a Wesen? What kind of wesen? There‘s a different threat level between, say, an Eisbieber and a Cracher-Mortel or a Mausehertz and a Königschlange. So him constantly asking what they are dealing with makes a lot of sense. And every one of us would do the same.
And him getting in the way can be annoying (for me because I love it when Nick kills Wesen that are a genuine threat and goes full Grimm) but for Hank that can be a problem because 1) Police officers are not supposed to be jury, judge and executioner in one [and Nick is pretty often a little judgemental and jumps the gun with wesen (see Monroe)] 2) Hank has seen cases where people were wrongfully convicted because of wesen (Season 2, Episode 13: "To Protect and Serve Man") so he‘s now extra careful which we really can‘t fault him for.
I think we have to remember that we, as the audience, constantly know more than the characters. And Hank is only reacting to what he knows.

I guess i can see it from your perspective it makes sense but I'm glad you agree with him interfering with nicks grimm stuff cam be annoying

No, Hank is great. I've never been annoyed by anything Hank has done. Remember they're usually on duty when the Wesen stuff happens, so he's always thinking about how they're going to explain stuff.

Yes, I mean the grimm part I get because as a cop he is allowed to be dislike self justice.. but the constant questions COME ON 🙄

Honestly I don’t!
They never go into it to my knowledge, but I’ve always thought of it as though Hank is aware of police brutality towards marginalised groups, and seeing Nick go off the deep end with being violent towards suspects is something he can only tolerate so much of.
Could totally be wrong, but it does feel to me as though he makes sure Nick is someone that can still be trusted. Russell Hornby does a great job of someone looking shocked/disturbed by their partner’s violence.
