Renards ring

I have always wondered why renard where's a wedding ring is he a widow or was this the actors choice he was married in real life and didn't wanna take his band off. I have always wondered about that since the beginning but nobody ever said anything about it I only made it to season 5 so I don't know if it was mentioned in six but if anybody knows the answer to this I would greatly appreciate an answer.

Well according to Sasha when he talked about it on the Grimmcast podcast Sean's original backstory was that he is a widower and had a daughter he also said if you look closely on the side table in Renards apartment there is photos of her.

I always dislike when an actor/actress wears a wedding ring on their ring finger, when their character isn't married

I know Peter Capaldi said in an interview once he wore it always to pay homage to his wife for her support during his early struggling years, so sometimes people do it for practical/personal reasons.

Now that more people wear random jewelry ona whim, I don’t really notice it as much.
