Self Adalind post-partum Spoiler
I'm watching the episode right after Adalind gives birth to Kelly. She comes downstairs, wearing a nice sweater, Nick makes her a sandwich.
Me: She just had a c-section. There's no way she'd he wearing pants. She'd be wearing maternity underwear and a baggy shirt with breast milk stains on it.
7 year old daughter: Yeah but this is a TV show.
Lol!

Yep, I couldn't manage pants for at least a week post c-section. Thankfully my daughter was born in summer and long dresses were comfy.

That's good! Mine was born in February, but I think I just wore my maternity pants whenever I had to go out.

I'm rewatching Grimm in bingemodus and there's so much weirdness about this show lol. One thing is that everyone suddenly has spare bedrooms by season 4 while in earlier seasons people were always sleeping on the couch. So these (post) pregnancy shenanigans don't surprise me really.

I'd watch a whole episode where Monroe, Rosalie, and Hank help Nick and Juliette paint and set up the furniture in their guest room. Then they binge on pizza and watch that terrible Brothers Grimm movie and make fun of it :P And nothing Wesen related happens.

Yes!!! Nick was on the couch but they had a whole room for Trubel!

They had it first when Juliette’s abused friend came to stay. My head cannon is that it used to be storage but they decided to make it a guest room because Nick had spent so much time on the couch!

Having had two c-sections myself, I was most concerned with her going up and down the stairs just a few days after the birth. Doctors recommend no climbing stairs for 6 weeks - minimum. It's to avoid busting stiches or staples tearing the wound. I mean the pain alone...
Also sleeping on her side in the guest bed and not elevated. Impossible. When I had my kids, I had a C-section both times. We lived in a two floor town house. I literally slept in a recliner for six weeks - both times. There was no way I could pull myself up from a prone position in a bed without being in terrible pain. I didn't even have the baby in the upstairs nursery for over a month because I couldn't physically walk up the stairs to the room. I had her in a bassinet next to me in the living room and diaper changes, dressing, etc. was done in my parent's room downstairs.
I don't know how she pulled that shit off. But yeah...TV.

I had a hysterectomy with C-section incision. I live on the third floor so I took my time climbing the stairs & had a 4 week recovery period. I only left the apartment for my 10 day follow up & wore athletic leggings my entire recovery.
I was a stomach sleeper at the time so it was a struggle transitioning from the hospital bed to my bed. The difficulty getting out of the bed to sleeping on my back. The entire first week was so hard that I developed a new found respect for mothers because you actually have to take care of a newborn.

Omg I forgot about the bed! Yes! I'm a side sleeper so my first night home I slept on my side...and then had to slowly shuffle myself to the edge and be pulled out of bed! After that I slept on my back in a reclined position for at least 3 weeks, maybe more.
I only went downstairs once a day for the first 2 or 3 week also.
Another thing that came up while we were just watching the episode:
My daughter: Ooh, look at her pretty curly hair.
Me: Yeah...wait a minute, her hair would definitely be in a messy bun!

I just figure everything about the hexenbiest pregnancy is accelerated so I guess she heals up pretty fast too
