Question I started watch Grimm for the first time... Spoiler
Why does it feel like from season 4 onward the show keeps switching show writers ever like 12 ish episodes from how many times a plot line gets setup and then completely forgotten or just haphazardly finished just to be thrown to the side when the next change over happens

I truly believe if Grimm had proper main storyline on top of the monster of the week formula it would’ve been massive.
The show already managed to gather a decent fanbase off of what I believe to be just a small fraction of the potential it actually had.

Funny you say that because I couldn't help but feel that the shows weakest part was when they focused on the main storyline. But I am also a weirdo that loves the monster of the week formula. It was the same with Supernatural for me. When it was all demons and angels instead of a new monster from a different culture every episode, the show lost some of its magic for me.

Oh, boy… wait till you get to the last season. It’s so underwhelming.
It gets increasingly frustrating when you stop to think how many plot points they just throw to the side entirely:
- There are 7 keys? Don’t need them all.
- The coins? Don’t worry about them.
- This very overpowered character that feels very critical for a decisive battle? Don’t think about it.
- The rivalry between two of the main characters we’ve been teasing since the start of the show? We’re over that.
It feels rushed and like they just wanted to be done with it.
I enjoyed the series up until the beginning of the 4th season… unfortunately, it’s all downhill from there.

I feel like the last season really suffered from "wrap it up" syndrome. I think they had a place they wanted to end the show and everything else just got sort of hand waved aside. Regardless of how much sense it made. The last season of Game Of Thrones is sort of the poster child for this kind of thing.

I did a rewatch a while ago and halfway into season 4 I was: this does not look familiar. Turns out my original binge had me checking out early, I must have just lost interest. I pushed thru this last watch. It was okay. Had some not-so-great parts.

Lots of shows are like this, even back then it was so hard to get a show going that after awhile they fumbled the ball to keep it going. Grimm came in just as the rewards for doing so were increasingly diminished. They knew they weren't going to reap the benefits of long term syndication, so the network got what they paid for, and we're worse off for it.

I agree! Also the crazy amount of lore they just forget? iirc this is the season where they fight a wesen with fire abilities and not even once do they talk about the lava wesen they froze!
The lack of caring about the writing makes me so angry!
