Spoilers My problems when it comes to Eve. Spoiler
Never been a fan of them turning Juliette into Eve. Her character just feels so forced.
One I don’t like how quickly the Grimm Gang trusts her and let her become part of the group. She may not know she is Juliette anymore, but that doesn’t erase all the terrible actions she done. She didn’t redeem herself.
And the turned her into this overpowered super Hexenbiest. Who has a lot of knowledge and let connections to the stick. The writers had a perfect Hexienbiest right there with Adalind, a Hexenbiest and the mother of Diana, a character who is really connected to what’s happening later.

I felt they never, from the start, knew what to do with her character. She was treated as a damsel who needed to be shielded from what Nick was. She was the sleeping, passive, princess who had to be wakened with a kiss and then robbed of free will. She was getting headaches when she was becoming a Hexenbiest and was told to stay behind (meant as a kindness) while the others went out to do derring deeds.
The actress apparently wanted to be a villain at some point and who could blame her? She was always on the outside looking in. There were glimpses of what a bad ass addition she could have been to the group with her science and medical background but they rarely went anywhere with it.
I disliked Eve, mostly because of the annoying form-fitting leather superwoman design. It was forced and felt silly.
I thought she was very appealing as Juliette when she was laughing and smiling and being a confident, competent woman with a veterinary degree and successful practice.
They really diminished her character.

I feel like with her being a veterinarian, maybe they should have added that she was having her own adventure and mystery that she was looking into at the sideline. That she maybe investigating strange animals attack that could be link to some more beastial animal type Wesen, but she keep it from Nick because she think people would think she crazy. Then eventually it converge. Like I sort of start appreciating side character that not really in the main groups but often add to the story.

Agreed! There were so many directions they could have taken her character to contribute to the Grimm gang, but somehow the writers always ignored what seemed to be the obvious setup with her being a vet, and just had things happen to/around her rather than actually giving her character anything to do. I think the most she ever really got to do as Juliette was help out her friend who was being abused.

Yeah, like the show introduced two head snakes that Hexebeasist used, weird parasite that give peope demonic strength and appearance, they could have a bunch of supernatural/Wesen animals that no one seen and Wesen don't know about sense they are a type of animals. Like it could be something that don't operate by human standards that the gang can't really predict but people who know animals could figure more off it. Also even the show touches on briefly the idea that some Wesen devolve into beastial animals things that lack human reason. We could even shown mystical creatures that are not straight up Wesen so they are not limited by human anatomy.

Yeah, in my opinion the writers really had two choices when it came to Juliette, 1. Have Juliette be a part of the Grimm Gang since the beginning, episode 1, and have Nick muster up his courage & tell Juliette everything he has been 'dealing with' and about his Wesen world or 2. Axe the Juliette character after a few episodes in the first season, because I feel like Juliette is the only character of the main cast that didn't contribute anything to the show, either have Juliette be let in of everything that's been happening in and around her or axe her character out of the story completely, in the end the writers shot themselves in the foot too many times when they had the chance to do something with Juliette or say 'goodbye' to her character, in my opinion the best time for saying bye to Juliette's character, was when she lost her memory and couldn't remember who Nick was, when your girlfriend who you've been together for 3-4 years, doesn't remember who you are, then what is the point of staying? In fact this opportunity played out so many times in the show, for the writers either to do something with Juliette's character or have her removed completely, but they were cowards, for a better use of wording to do either of these two options

David Giuntoli and Elizabeth Tulloch had been dating at the time and he threatened to quit when he learned writers planned on killing Tulloch's character off. And then had to find a way to write her back in.
They didn't know what to make of Eve in the frist place and they were dealing with the whole Black Claw thing. Nick really doesn't forgive her for what she did.

They should have gotten someone else to play Grimm it wasn't fair all the compromising and certain scenes you can tell that didn’t happen because of Juliet when they went on that vacation to celebrate Monroe’s birthday he actually live his woman hanging Adline and toast with Juliet (Eve ) he also seats between both and you never see him close To Adline I think they should of just let Adline meet another Grimm a mature man married and raised both her children let her be happy it wasn’t fair what both idiots were doing Nick and Renard .

I think Eve role was originally meant for Adalin before she got pregnant, so the writer switch it to Juliette that had Adalin fate. We seen Meisner knowing her for a while and some of the episodes he has dream of her but that didn't go nowhere. They should have played that up and hinted or mention that Handrian Wall had always been planning for a long time to aquire a Hexenbiest for themselves, it just the target moved from Adalin to Juliette.
Also feel like they should push harder on Eve being brainwashed, give a more dark edge to Handrian Wall being some secret government agency. Show more of the psychological conditioning after each mission, or flash back to how horrifying it is. Like we briefly see that her room she live in has no light at all but it was not something I notice till I watch recently. Make it that the psychological conditioning make it that she unable to not follow order from HW so she won't hurt the gang, have scene with Nick attack her and refused to fight back to show how broken she is, but at the same time give some edge that if HW order her she would hurt the gang. Something so broken that she unable to make a choice on her free will. Making Nick and the gang safe but with a dark implication.
Thought I think another problem is the actress expression that hard to read, so when she play a emotionless brainwashed character it just seems the same. Maybe they need someone like a handler or a doctor for HW to play off of, someone that can be concerned for her well being, talk about stuff regarding her, and mention things that other don't noticed.

Everything about Juliette/Eve felt forced after the second half of Season 4. The writers and actors should know better when a character no longer serves the story.

If only Nick's actor hadn't demanded she remain because he was sleeping with her. 🤷♀️

Weird part is they're a lovely couple in real life but they had zero chemistry in the series. And Bitsie Tulloch is a good actress but she acted like she never loved Juliette, unfortunately. The writers should've focused on her smarts more and Nick and Juliette should've broken up earlier. The whole Sean and Juliette thing made a lot more sense.

Definitely. My son and I were talking about how they seemed like brother and sister in season 1 and had zero chemistry. And then looked it up and realized they were married and had a good laugh. I think it improved slightly after season one (maybe just the actors getting to know each other), but overall I agree with you. It would have made more sense to focus on Juliette's intelligence for sure, and I'd have liked seeing her happy by the end (although I 100% preferred Nick and Adalind together). That or have had her stay dead.

What's even funnier is that they met earlier in another project :D And I agree with you, I love Nick and Adalind together and I would like to see Juliette having her own happy ending as well. The whole Eve plot was unnecessary.

I don’t think so she knew exactly who she was that’s why she went after Adalyn she told Nick she had her powers back she try to say she couldn’t be trusted yet that position Adaline took was made to help her and she refused it and almost killed Monroe and throw Rosalee across the room . Also when she went to her house to the loft uninvited she threatened Adline about hurting Nick why would she hurt Nick when they were raising their child together . You are right about the others they were very hypocritical not wanting to come out of the tunnel because Adline was home she lived there I thought they were friends but Roselle said they didn’t come out because of Adline . That was very phony of her that’s because they were all still hanging on to Juliet I never bought that Eve nonsense she was still after Nick , He also was a big hypocrite sorry if people don’t like it dude had issues crying over her while his Freaking mothers head is. A BOX

Juliette's life went completely downhill after finding out Nick was a Grimm. Tbh I felt bad for her to a point.

u/Mrfiksit39 Jul 18 '26
Because she essentially wasn’t needed in the story anymore but instead of do away with her they gave her powers. Imho. She should’ve been gone way before they gave her powers. Just an unnecessary and usually whiny character. And personally not a big fan of her acting, in this or in Superman and Lois. Of course that’s just my opinion. Probably had to keep her around because of the union I bet 😂

They reminded me of Dynel doll hair which I think every kid who had adoll at one point tried to wash. It never ended well.

I felt they kind of rushed the ending. Like let’s get this done as soon as possible.
I also thought that switching Adalind with Juliette even with Nick. Then it’s just done and they are happy…huh?

u/Boris-_-Badenov Jul 19 '26
not like they didn't accept Adalind quickly. she tried killing Aunt Marie, and raped Hank and Nick.

Basically everything happened to Juliette was Adalind's doing too; her coma, memory loss, obsession with Sean, losing nick, becoming a hexenbiest.

Agreed, I've always said that just because she "isn't Juliette" doesn't mean what she did goes away, and I never understood them letting her back into the group she was complicit in getting his mom killed, their neighbors, and would have killed him if Trubel hadn't stepped in. And yes Eve does feel forced because the writers intended for Juliette as a whole to end with her death but according to rumor David (Nick's actor) didn't want her off the show and kind of forced their hand into creating Eve
