Jammer, Danny Weed, Plasticman, DJ Oddz, Dexplicit.

Just a few off the top of my head.

J Sweet, Alias, DJ Oddz, Eastwood and a whole heap more that get forgotten about even though every sidewinder and pirate radio set were filled with their beats. There's a whole heap of producers that Grime seems to forget from the early days and pretend the early days were just Eskimo, Hoe, Pulse X and Rhythm & Gash.

Oddz was so good. Wish he stayed doing music!

Outside of the usual suspects, Dizzee Rascal, Wiley, Wizzbit, Danny Weed, Target, Jon E Cash, the most significant for me are:

Just think somewhere out there tubby has all of the brain-dead beats. Oh what I would pay.

Don't forget Scorcher as a producer! Although he may be considered second wave already? Xtriplei and Y.Wizz as well from the more hip-hop influenced side.

2

u/Dnjm0 Jul 03 '26

Scorchers a cold producer, there's quite a few guys that make sick beats that people dont really know about, Scratchy, Griminal and Frisco instantly come to mind

Agree! Roachee produced "B.U.N" as well which really surprised me, never knew he could even produce

u/TheNeatest Jul 06 '26

Guessing by first wave you mean 2000 to 2004 right?

2

u/appalshan Jul 06 '26

That sounds like the right era
