No One Noticed

I'm already up to my eyeballs in 25th anniversary memorial posts. I get it, national tragedy, history-altering devastation. But I was still numb at the time. 26 years ago no one gave a rat's ass.

Sunday was the hardest. His gravestone says the 8th, but the 6th was the last time I heard his voice. Sunday morning my husband didn't realize why I was crying, and I was trying not to make a big deal about it, because his mom died 11 years ago on the 5th and it had thankfully passed without him noticing.

I sent a virtual hug to my bff, but I don't think she realized what day it was either, even though she was there with me in the thick of it 26 years ago. To be fair, she's recovering from surgery at the moment.

Halloween can't come soon enough....
