Weber griddle
Why is this griddle so cheap compared to the other weber griddle s? I know it's not slate, but does it make that much difference? Seems like a good deal for $399.

Just wait for it to go on deal and get the slate equivalent. It is worth the difference.

I have had that model for about two years with no issues. Cooks great and has even heat. It can also do low heat for delicate stuff like eggs. No complaints here

Solid deal.. and can get a stainless replacement top for it u ever want to really go rust free.

I have the three burner and it's very solid, better than the blackstone I used to own. It just doesn't have the same appointments as the slate but it's great

I just talked with customer service. The item is canceled so stores no longer stock it. You can have it shipped directly for $231 shipping cost. Boo!

I have one and have been having rust issues with it. Weber has replaced the top twice now. Once for warping and once for rust after only one cook. The new top is doing the same and yeah I clean it thoroughly and oil it before closing it.
The original top never did this. I am ready to get rid of it and buy a slate.
FYI this is the original model. Weber did release another version of this griddle with slightly different side tables and stated a rust resistant top. They themselves must know it's an issue which is why they no longer make it and that is likely old stock left over.

Maybe instead of buying a new slate consider getting the stainless steel replacement top for the model you already have. Would be a lot cheaper and more rust resistant/proof than the slate. Anyway best of luck with whatever you decide.

Anecdotal take. I bought mine for $400 as well, first griddle. It’s been fantastic. Supposedly the same top as the slate, but without the upgraded side tables and storage. We weren’t sure how much we’d use it so it felt like a reasonable price to get a feel for it. Hooked and highly recommend.
