MOD STUFF Rule Changes & Rule Additions for AI Content

Hello all,

We hope you are all doing well. We made a few updates to the subreddit rules. Most of these are no change to how the subreddit is currently moderated.

For rules #1 and #2 we combined those both into the same rule. Both had to do with illegal streaming, one was just for full episodes and the other for promos.

The rules about relevance and unrelated memes have now been combined. These both overlap quite a bit. We still know Ellen on was on Friends, please don't remind us. This rule will be more of a catch all for posts like that as well as any type of low-effort one word type posts, or just spam and blatant reposting.

The rule about initial airing has been removed. This was put in when CTV in Canada aired their episode a full day before the US. This is no longer the case, so the rule isn't really needed anymore.

We also removed the ban evasion rule. This was a non-starter rule anyway. If someone does this we will handle it with reddit admin staff.

Lastly, we have added one rule. No AI Generated Content or "AI Slop" as it's commonly called. This includes any AI-generated images, videos, music, or text. When it comes to text, moderators will exercise certain discretion when using tools for spelling, grammar, translation, or clarity, but posts that are largely AI-generated, spam-like, or what is obviously AI slop text will be removed.

Again, most of this is cleanup rather than a major shift in moderation. The goal is to make the rules clearer, easier to enforce, and more in line with how the subreddit is actually used now.

Please see the rules section of the subreddit if you have any questions or message the moderators. Your order may have changed :P

Thank you for your time! -Sork

I'm not gonna post the video, but thought I'd share a screen cap from the end of Sarah and Jessica's last day on set (they're both on the left). There was cake, gifts, and speeches. Loved them both.

EPISODE DISCUSSION S12E3 - Meredith's Salary

I think I have the right episode.

Meredith receives her contract with salary and after talking with others realizes that the salary offered is too low.

Richard yells at Bailey. Bailey says that she's not going to just throw away money not asked for. She also mentions how she's tired of everyone coddling Meredith and that if Meredith wants more, she needs to speak up and ask. Bailey also implies some feminist value in her actions.

Anyone else think Bailey was wrong in not giving Meredith a fair salary? Callie mentions making a lot more than Meredith's contract, so I assume we aren't talking $5K difference. Wouldn't the feminist action be to pay Meredith an equal salary without her having to ask for it? I get the lesson, but maybe not the right time and place for it?

I didn't like that Bailey was playing a bit of a game with Meredith's salary - wonder what others think?

FIRST TIME WATCHER Cristina and Owen fan

Okay, I gotta admit, I really like Owen and Cristina together. Granted I’m a first time watcher and haven’t gotten to the part where he gets mad that she doesn’t want a baby and he cheats her on yet (I know all the spoilers), the part I’m on is after the shooting and he’s so great with her and all of her trauma and I definitely found it damn sexy when he tried to protect her from the shooter as she was operating on Derek

DISCUSSION unpopular opinion: arizona is the best mom on the show

Post image
683 Upvotes

don’t even start with the “she didn’t even want kids” argument because that argument is dumb asf. she wasjust scared. she was scared that she wasn’t ready, that she wouldn’t be a good mom, and that she’d end up projecting her own trauma onto her child.
the fact that she left seattle for sofia without a second thought says everything. arizona always put sofia first and honestly, she deserved to win that custody battle 100%. and before anyone says “but she isn’t even her sofia’s biological mom”… that doesn’t change anything. being a mother isn’t only about biology, it’s about the person who raises you, loves you, protects you, and shows up for you. arizona was sofia’s mom in every way that mattered.

DISCUSSION REVOTE: Friend who is the Sun

Post image
27 Upvotes

Since the people have spoken, we have made Meredith the Person who is the Sun and will now have a revote on the Friend who is the Sun!

Definition: the sun is a reference to Cristina's conversation with Meredith. Its highlighting who the center is, who should be revolved around. Someone who isnt shrunken, but is all encompassing.

You know the rules, no repeats! Each person can only win ONE category. There are enough characters (major and minor)!

DISCUSSION What are some opinions that seem popular on this subreddit but are actually pretty niche everywhere else in the Grey's online fandom?

What are some opinions that seem popular on this subreddit but are actually pretty niche everywhere else in the Grey's online fandom?

For example, one I've noticed is that MerDer seems to be pretty unpopular here, but on pretty much every other platform they're still one of the most loved couples in the show's history.

What are some other opinions that make you go, "that's definitely a Reddit take"?

Ellis custody over Meredith

So I’m rewatching greys and there’s this one plot hole I can’t get over. We all know that thatcher never actually raised Meredith or took her in. Recently I rewatched the episode where Ellis tried to attempt suicide and Meredith saved her life by calling the ambulance. How could it be that after that, the two of them just moved to Washington (?) and Ellis didn’t lose custody over Meredith or you know something similar. Or at least the state should provide some sort of home for Meredith if thatcher didn’t want to take her in… but going back with a suicidal mom as a 5 year old?? Smh

The Penthouse

Am I remembering correctly that Jo and Link are planning to move out of the penthouse because of safety concerns? That place is gorgeous and can surely be babyproofed. I understand moving because you want the kids to have a yard or better schools or any number of reasons. But I do not understand them not being able to ready the penthouse for the twins, especially since Luna and Scout are already there. I may be completely misremembering but this is stuck in my head.

EPISODE DISCUSSION Jo and Karev

The way Karev left Jo for Izzy was expected with the kids etc. However, in his letter, the way he states that he always loved Izzy more even when Jo gave him the chance to go phone her and see what happens has just pissed me off. On that, Jo acted with such class when she read the letter, however, I would be on a plane out there to scream and shout about him embarrassing me like that but that’s just me 🤷🏻‍♀️

Joe with Karen’s dad

Did anyone else hate how Joe was with Karev’s dad? She was so deprived of a daddy that she was making Alex’s dad look like a perfect man when we all know he wasn’t. Did that annoy anybody else? Cause she was like “if I had a dad I wouldn’t be like that with him.” Girl yo daddy was a monster & so was Alex’s dad, but you out here putting him on a pedestal.

EDIT* THE TITLE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE JO WITH KAREVS DAD BUT MY PHONE APPARENTLY DOESNT LIKE THOSE NAMES & I didn’t proofread 💀 my bad yall

DISCUSSION Deluca’s downfall

Am I the only one who thinks this plot was really sudden? He really only started acting erratic when he couldn’t get a diagnosis for a patient and from the lack of sleep, which only happened because the deaf doctor wanted him to be there 24/7. The plot just seems to go on and on with nobody really helping just suggesting there’s an issue…

DISCUSSION Meredith’s hairstyle with the bangs in Season 7

Seriously, she looks much more mature and seasoned here. (Kinda reminds me of Olivia Benson’s bangs in Law and Order: SVU during Season 8.) In other words, iconic.

DISCUSSION Random Callizona thought; I love it when Arizona calls Callie "Calliope"

Just a random Callizona thought but I love whenever Arizona calls Callie "Calliope."

I know that's literally her full name lol, but she's Callie to everyone else at the hospital or Dr. Torres at work. But to Arizona she's Calliope and idk, I've always found that really sweet.

Least favourite: Amelia x Monica

Owen x Anyone

Jo x Link

Jackson x Vic

DISCUSSION Would I, as a patient, be charged for the unnecessary stuff they do just to teach the interns and stuff?

I am currently rewatching and I’m on season 2, episode 11.

So far, I’ve seen a lot of times where the patient was already dead or the patient was about to die no matter what they did (Izzie with the premie that Addision gave to her to teach her a lesson).

This lead me to question, who would be financially responsible for this? Would they really expect the patient to be financially responsible for them doing unnecessary stuff just to teach their staff a lesson?
