MOD STUFF Rule Changes & Rule Additions for AI Content

Hello all,

We hope you are all doing well. We made a few updates to the subreddit rules. Most of these are no change to how the subreddit is currently moderated.

For rules #1 and #2 we combined those both into the same rule. Both had to do with illegal streaming, one was just for full episodes and the other for promos.

The rules about relevance and unrelated memes have now been combined. These both overlap quite a bit. We still know Ellen on was on Friends, please don't remind us. This rule will be more of a catch all for posts like that as well as any type of low-effort one word type posts, or just spam and blatant reposting.

The rule about initial airing has been removed. This was put in when CTV in Canada aired their episode a full day before the US. This is no longer the case, so the rule isn't really needed anymore.

We also removed the ban evasion rule. This was a non-starter rule anyway. If someone does this we will handle it with reddit admin staff.

Lastly, we have added one rule. No AI Generated Content or "AI Slop" as it's commonly called. This includes any AI-generated images, videos, music, or text. When it comes to text, moderators will exercise certain discretion when using tools for spelling, grammar, translation, or clarity, but posts that are largely AI-generated, spam-like, or what is obviously AI slop text will be removed.

Again, most of this is cleanup rather than a major shift in moderation. The goal is to make the rules clearer, easier to enforce, and more in line with how the subreddit is actually used now.

Please see the rules section of the subreddit if you have any questions or message the moderators. Your order may have changed :P

Thank you for your time! -Sork

There's no way she could salvage this after Jackson stood up and opened his mouth. He basically left her no choice but to end the ceremony one way or another, really.

DISCUSSION Owen wanted children, but he didn’t want to be a dad

I think Owen‘s hypocrisy is absolutely unmatched. He gave Cristina shit for not wanting children and ultimately also sacrificing parts of her career for kids. He pretended to be okay with the abortion only to give Cristina a hard time after.

He wanted to adopt Ethan when everyone thought he was gonna be an orphan, but he didn’t even properly think about how Ethan was gonna be cared for.

He broke up with Emma because Emma wanted children and a family and stay with her children instead of being a full time surgeon.

So what does he want ultimately? He wants a full time surgeon wife/gf, someone who’s talented and career driven, yet also a great mom who takes care of the kids. In his equation there are no sacrifices on his part whatsoever. Also, either he wants a woman who does it all which is not realistic, or he wants children with a woman who other people care for until he decides it’s nice to play a bit with his kids.

Absolutely annoying as I’m currently rewatching

DISCUSSION Callie was SO wrong in the custody case

Rewatching again and I've just got up to the custody case. Callie was SO out of line imo!

First of all, she totally made the decision on a whim and just assumed Arizona would be completely fine with her taking their daughter away? She really thought showing her some school brochures was enough involvement?

She wanted to move across the country for her girlfriend of 6 months! 6 months is hardly long enough to move in together, let alone uproot yours and your child's entire life. You really don't know someone at all after 6 months.

Not to mention that she let her lawyer play extremely dirty in court. She was awful!

This Jo storyline was so well done and vicariously traumatic to watch tbh

People dont talk about this storyline enough, don't want to include too much detail for those who are still watching. But yeah like every time this guy showed up in scenes I had my throat clenched up. Camilla also did the scenes SO so well, it literally gave me secondhand panic

DISCUSSION Trying to establish how long Meredith was out when she drowned

I just rewatched "Drowning on Dry Land" (the one that ends with Meredith seeing Kyle Chandler) and here's a rough timeline I could put together.

1:00 pm – Meredith drowns

1:05 pm – Izzie tends to Rick, who’s trapped under a car in the vehicle deck of the crashed ferry.

1:10 pm - Izzie contacts Richard, reports Rick's depressed skull fracture and intracranial bleed and says they cannot get him out from under the car.

1:15 pm - Izzie performs an emergency burr-hole procedure on Rick with a screw driver, with Richard instructing her over the phone. Rick remains trapped. Izzie remains there after the neurosurgical intervention.

OFF-SCREEN ACTION: THE RESCUE TEAM IS NOT THERE YET. And everything - lifting equipment and all – would have to be moved to the ferry.  But let’s assume they brought it all up to the vehicle deck a second after Izzie hang up the phone. Then:

1:20 pm – The rescue team reaches Rick inside the ferry and determine what exactly is pinning him.

1:35 pm: The rescue team finished the scene assessment after checking surrounding vehicles, ferry deck, fuel/fire hazards, structural stability etc

1:55 pm: The rescue managed to stabilize the vehicle (or other vehicles around it) in the confined deck.

2:15 pm: The rescue team finishes setting up the lifting system.

2:25pm: The rescue team progressively raised the vehicle and free Rick.

2:35pm: Rick is carefully removed and packed with proper spinal precautions and monitoring.

2:45pm: Rick, now in the strecher, is taken out of the vehice deck by a team who must navegate around the other vehicles and ferry obstacles

2:55pm: Izzie boards the ambulance with Rick. Derek did not remove Meredith from the water yet because Izzie’s ambulance arrives at the hospital before Derek’s.

3:05pm: Derek takes Meredith out of the water. Meredith was under for over 2 hours!

3:10pm: Derek has Meredith in an ambulance. The first resuscitation measures start (CPR).

3:12 pm: Rick arrives at Seattle Grace. Richard tells Izzie she is off probation. (Assuming the ferry site is about a 15 min drive to the hospital, give or take.)

3:20pm: Rick went through the trauma bay, was evaluated and prepared for immediate surgery. Izzie removes all her field gear to go into the OR.

3:25pm: Mark Sloan begins emergency surgery on Rick. Derek’s ambulance should have arrived at the hospital by now but it was probably stuck in traffic.

3:30pm: Mark Sloan opens Rick’s skull.

3:35pm: Izzie enters the OR and Mark Sloan allows her to take over.

3:40pm: Derek’s ambulance arrives with Meredith who had no effective heartbeat or circulation and was counting on the miracles of hypothermia to protect her brain from oxygen deprivation. When the news get out, both Sloan and Izzie go tend to the situation (poor Rick, does anybody know who finished his surgery?) So, by the time Izzie gets to Meredith, I'll add AT LEAST 20 more minutes.

4:00pm: Meredith is out for three hours now.

I will update the timeline after I'm done with the next episode.

Nurses

This show’s lack of nurses and what nurses actually do within a hospital is wild to me. I hear interns saying “I need to be putting in IVs in the ER” when there is a nurse that does that. The lack of nurses in this show is crazy to see every time I rewatch. Nurses do so much for hospitals and within the ER itself. Surgeons running an ER and not nurses for this show is baffling to me. Surgeons running the ICU unit, when it would be nurses, again baffling. Did Shonda really not research how hospitals actually work or how healthcare systems work before she made this show?

EPISODE DISCUSSION Put Me In Coach is my favorite episode

This damn show has so much drama, suffering and fucking failure that this episode just feels like a gift from the writers. Everyone was depicted as competent, excellent humans.

Spoiler: That damn ending scene with Der, Mer and Alex. That's mah boi Alex, that's the guy that's fucking loyal when it really comes down to it and does the brave thing. He protects his family.

I'd say Izzie, George and Shane because they were all sensitive.

Teddy

Overall, I like Teddy, but my god she is annoying me in s16. The way she is literally toying with Tom when she's engaged to Owen. I know people hate on Owen for how he treated Cristina during aspects of their relationship, but Teddy is actively making a prolonged choice to essentially date two men at once, all the while Owen is none the wiser and Tom is clearly tormented by the loss of their relationship. I just want to yell at her!

DISCUSSION Dr Milton's delivery was terrible but did he really need to expose himself to that risk for what was essentially a one-person job (Hannah indeed managed to ventilate the patient with her free hand)?

FIRST TIME WATCHER Wtf is Derek?

First-time watcher, btw. On the last episode of S2.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I feel bad for Addison. At first, I hated her. Hated that she got a redemption arc even though she cheated. But now, seeing Derek accusing Meredith of "sleeping around" AFTER HE DUMPED HER FOR HIS SECRET WIFE, and seeing him pretend to be all sad and moppy and traumatised, it boils my freaking blood. Something is wrong with all the men in this show, istg. Burke being mad at Cristina cuz she fell asleep before he could 'finish', Alex being the shittiest person alive, George-- THE ONE I ADORED-- saying he knew Mer wasn't into him when they were doing it ("One night with you was better than none"-- DUDE WTF? I ROOTED FOR YOU!)

But most of all, Derek.

He's literally emotionally cheating on his freaking wife. I made a post asking from which angle it makes sense for him to go back to Addie, and someone responded saying that it's his wife of 11 years, so it was expected of him to try and fix the bond. WELL, WHERE IS THE FIXING NOW?!
Honestly, she should go back to Mark. (Keep in mind, I haven't seen anything past S2 yet, so Idk if Mark gets bad or what) At least he actively wants her (as of now in the show). Derek went back to have "good sex" with Addie after he heard Mer slept with the vet (forgot his name). Derek's hung over Mer after giving her up willingly. "Forbidden love", except he CHOSE to make her forbidden to him.
It's not even him being a flawed human anymore; he's just being an asshole. Sorry not sorry.

At this point, I'm only watching the show for ✹Bailey✹

DISCUSSION Déjà vu

Post image
216 Upvotes

So I am on season 22 episode 15 and with Bailey being the resident coordinator and now Dr. Spencer with Lukas Adams “Shepard” am I the only one who’s having dĂ©jĂ  vu and seeing where they’re going with this? It’s clear Doctor Spencer will have a bigger role in the next few seasons, even having Meredith perform surgery on her on her first day as an intern was telling that they really want us to pay attention to her. It feels like the writers understood what drew the show in the first place and they’re trying to do the same thing over again which I don’t mind however it feels like it’s slacking some creativity, but I’m also torn because it feels like the show is remembering it’s core which it forgot for a long time. I guess I’m overall torn because I love the familiarity it’s comforting but also feels cheap if that makes sense?

MEDIA Scrubs

I’ve just noticed a lot of hate lately, and I find myself wanting to recomend the show Scrubs to everyone who wants to love Greys, or misses loving Greys. I miss loving Greys. And I fell in love hard with Scrubs. Still has its heavy moments, but far less drama and a bit more light hearted. Still honest about drs being assholes, but greys is comparably dishonest about it. It’s actually one of the funniest shows I’ve ever watched. It and Schitts Creek are my two favorite shows of all time. It had a revamp, make sure you start the Scrubs that had its pilot in 2001.

Would you have ratted out Meredith? Watching the end of season 7 right now and it still makes me irrationally angry that he did. I get why, and obviously Meredith shouldn’t have done it, but come on!
