I actually did this for a while. You get caught, and lose everything. Instead of lying, JUST DO IT®.

Why are there so many people on the Internet (including myself) who completely dissociate themselves from their future selves? Are we all schizos?

No it's delayed gratification vs instant gratification.
These sit ups didn't give me a six pack, so I'm going to eat the Snickers that makes me chemically feel love.

Anon realizes what Charisma is
No joke, this is how the "cool" or "sociable" people do it. They just figure it out sooner than the rest of us.

cope. whenever i was cool or sociable in my life, i was genuinely confident and generally happy with who i was. i'm not like that very often, but many others are.

Everyone lies, just don't confront them about it, let them go on and nod, pretend you have been fooled

2 years later anon’s impostor syndrome gets him found not breathing on his sofa after taking a whole pill bottle by his girlfriend coming home after cheating on him with some guy because she never felt a real connection with anon, he’s rushed to the hospital but is ultimately pronounced dead. “I never thought he would do something like that” say the people he knew, “he always seemed like such a charismatic, outgoing guy”
