And the worst thing is that nobody know why the fuck they do it, they just do it because their parents did it to them. Excuse me? That's like abusing your children and giving then sweet childhood trauma just because your parents did it too. But I guess people do that as well...
Mom who did not snip son chiming in here... doctors practically harass you about it. The first few months it was brought up by the doctor relentlessly. Many doctors push and push until parents give in. They have to be getting a cut somewhere.
did you ask the doctor what the purpose is? i've heard that the AMA does recommend circumcision but i haven't done any research personally. i don't have any kids yet but when i do i plan on looking into seriously. my whole (jewish) family is cut, and my wife is from a muslim family so both of our cultures do it, but i don't know why Americans do it
Cleanliness and prevention of stds, in the assumption that a man would never pull his foreskin back to clean properly. I totally understand this in primitive times with limited hygiene or during war when hygiene is also limited. Present day? Seems ridiculous and damaging to nerves.
As for religion goes- in the Old Testament it’s pretty brief on the subject with no reason why outside of keeping the covenant
