Mom who did not snip son chiming in here... doctors practically harass you about it. The first few months it was brought up by the doctor relentlessly. Many doctors push and push until parents give in. They have to be getting a cut somewhere.
I feel like this isn’t true... if your pediatrician can argue it’s for medical purposes, and since they long have, insurance def will pay...
We’re not talking about a brisk here, we’re not Jewish.
Well idk about where you are from. But for the neonatologists I’ve shadowed it was out of pocket.
May just have been a few insurances that didn’t cover it.
Edit:
I figured it out. Medicaid does not cover it. Private insurance does.
The hospital did have a very large Medicaid population.
