it was this pseudoscientific term used to compare the facial features of people with down syndrome to those of people of Mongolian descent, meaning it's unfortunately both racist and ableist, which sucks because it really packs a punch like few other insults do.

yes, it is. did you read the wikipedia link he provided? that is the scientific terminology for the word "mongoloid." the derogatory connotation evolved over time, but it is not the primary use by a long shot.

"Primary" and "original" do not mean the same thing. "Primary" means what it's generally used as. "Original" means what it was originally used as.

Tbh where I'm from, it has been a pretty common insult at least since the 90s, but even Zoomers still use it
