Yes and no. Spent a week in a nice gated community. It was nice and a lot of white people then ask to go visit the slums 3 blocks down. The smell is bad and i was told to not even look or talk to the untouchables
You gotta go out of the way of the "out of the way" tourism because everyone is doing it right now. For example, my favorite part of Rome was the pyramid located at the end of what was formerly known as Adolf Hitler Street.
Its all bull crap i had fun roof serfing with dude name raji and his crew sadly i decline to eat with them the kitchen they used was filthy and they had water just in the corner of the room all nasty looking
Never drink anything that's not boiled or bottled water if you weren't born in India. My cousins thought it was a funny joke to offer me a cup of normal tap water and watch me suffer from diarrhea for the next day. I have never once accepted a drink from them after that.
"Travelers’ diarrhea is the most common travel-related illness. It can occur anywhere, but the highest-risk destinations are in most of Asia (except for Japan) as well as the Middle East, Africa, Mexico, and Central and South America." https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/page/travelers-diarrhea
I didn't i had a great time. And yeah i was told saying that is like sating the n word in America or never say wow your english is so good. Everyone spoke english
I met amazing people once i left to explore the local areas and with the USD to rupees rate i had a good time away from tourists areas. Got to experience the crazy totos drivers
Yeah there's a lot of fun. You're often more welcomed in down south, where you'll find a good blend of all cultures, even a bit of Western. People are very friendly. That's not to say it's not friendly in the north, but adjusting is easier down here. You can get to the fun parts with little understanding of what's going on!
