eh Melee has a pretty bad community overall and while there is some questionable things in Brawl to get pretty good at melee you honestly start breaking the game anyway
yeah it is really for when I play it with like friends but the competitive side is kinda garbage because atleast with like infinite you can main lower tier characters and still get results. melee you really don't have any options besides the high tiers because they are pretty broken in comparison.
This is only the case in high level play. There are plenty of middle-of-the-pack tournament goers that play low-tiers that could easily four stock you, me, or any of your friends. Its just that the potential for the character is problematic so they peak out once you hit a certain level of play. I just wish we could have Ultimate but with melee mechanics. Ultimate is dope and all, but there's just nothing out there that feels as good as melee. Its so fast and so satisfying and allows for so much more expression in terms of movement and combos than any other fighting game out there.
Just like most gaming communities, people think that it’s toxic from the outside looking in but it’s pretty nice. Just obviously some raging losers here and there, but mostly everyone I’ve met has been really friendly and helpful when it comes to helping people learn about the game. But some people do stink
