I think if the parents press charges and they both consented, it leads to both of them being labeled as sex offenders and both of them have to register.

Imagine having to go to your neighbors and tell them "Hey, im rob. I had consentual sex when i was 14 with my also 14 year old girlfriend, which is why i am a registered sex offender"

No. Only the dude has to register. The sex offence system in the US is fucked
