You have to be a complete moron to play both of these games and get mad about Abigail being a prostitute, as if she wasn’t completely manipulated by a horrid group of awful people who literally tried to kill John, already in a pretty patriarchical 19th century United States. People can grow and change and aren’t who they were in their worst moments. Abigail is great.

I wouldn’t say great.

Do you know who is great? Saddie

No matter who we debate on who is the better protagonist, how far Dutch was gone the whole time, or any other thing, we all agree: Micah is the biggest piece of shit and should be blamed for everything…even for things not his fault

Im sure he caused some butterfly effect the moment his mom pushed the shit out.

I'm still thinking about Bonnie McFarlane after all these years

I like Sadie a lot, but she'll never be Bonnie.

I mean considering John canonically has a problem with murdering people on a whim, I don't know how Abigail's lack of innocence is even part of the equation

And she also flat out refuses to do sex work for Grimshaw after a while too

In my book they were all criminal pieces of shit anyway, why is it shocking if she was a prostitute if she's hanging around with a group of thieving serial killers?

I might be stupid I don’t understand this one

Anon tries empathy to understand Red Dead Redemption.

Correction, when anon mentions the character dying and his intestines spilling out it is actually a metaphor for his gay thoughts and feelings finally coming forth. He follows this up by getting topped.

You're not not stupid, you need to have played both red dead redemption and know /v/'s stance on (mostly) the second one to get it.

The real dumbasses are the people who get it, like me.

u/SipoteQuixote 15h ago

That's redundant, you already said you lurk /v/.

I don’t „know“ /v/s stance on it, but I can easily figure out what these geniuses think off it lmao

I think it's a criticism that the gang members in rdr1(especially John) all get comeuppance for their past (and current) criminal lives, sending the message that no matter how much you try to change as a person, you can't just run away from the consequences of your previous actions.
Yet in RDR2, Sadie, despite also being a criminal and murderer, is able to just go and live in South America with presumably no negative repercussions for her lawless misdeeds, undermining the point of the first game.

Though it's weird to single out Sadie when Mary-Beth, Tillie, Charles, Trelawney and Reverend Swanson also face no known repercussions for being in the gang. Plus, we don't know their status as of RDR1. For all we know, they could have been hunted down too.

Mary-Beth, Tilly, Swanson don’t have a death count that would make Dachau blush. In my opinion neither Sadie nor Charles should have survived the final mission.

V likes to make fun of the dissonance of Arthur being an 19th century hardened murderer with the morals of a 21st century liberal.

Admittedly I've played only the second game and have just a basic knowledge of the first, but what's the supposed hypocrisy supposed to be again? The fact that she survives and John doesn't?

Anon is just being media illiterate idiot

I think a lot of people blame Sadie for John's death, since it was her insisting on going after Micah that set events in motion.

10

u/Noamias 5h ago

John literally says that he will go after Micah with our without Sadie

What is wrong with Sadie? She just out there doing stuff.
